What medium is in the netpots?

Sure hope it's not coco
Haha coco in the net pots oh boy that would be something. No it's those clay balls.

OK got the ec down to 616 but then had to get the pH down and that put the ec back up to 716, so hm yeah. Well it's late here, so I guess I'll see if the ec's gone up or down tomorrow and if I need to flush with straight water or they ate some nutrients.

Thanks for the help guys.

Zero root growth, the long roots on the one pot were roots from the coco that were in an old long plastic ice cream container with no drain holes or anything, the roots really grew well, I was surprised at that. But yeah no other growth from about 12 days in the reservoir.

The ec had dropped about 60 points overnight, so that's good. Thanks for the advice.

You might have shocked them going from coco to hydroton. Maybe those roots died off and hopefully new feeders are growing and just can't see them yet. Are your nutes dark color? Maybe stain? How's it smell in the rez??

I'm using calcium hypochlorite every few days. The roots were brownish when they went into the res. No roots have died off, the ones that haven't grown were just spread out inside the net pots on the stones, they're still there and fine as I looked, they just haven't grown any. The res smells fine, water is clear.

are you sure you are under the safe limit of 5ppm chlorine?
5ppm on what scale and in how much water? Would using ec with the calcium hypochlorite be OK, ec I understand. If so what ec would that 5ppm be? 5ppm on my meter would be about 10ec.

0.10 grams in 10 gallons water is 1ppm. assuming you are around 50 to 60ish% calcium hypo like HTH pool shock

So 0.01 grams per gallon at 60% chlorine, mines 32% chlorine, so 0.02 g per gallon, how would I figure out liters? There's 4.56 liters to a gallon. I have to divide something right? Haha shit
