No that was the Mujahideen a group of people led to believe they were fighting a religious war on the soviets with weapons provided by the CIA. The taliban came later . . . Remember all these people know is war and they are taught religious doctorine from birth. This makes them easy for the outside world to manipulate.

Exactly, that is why the War on Terror is ridiculous in the first place, you can't fight an ideal, an upbringing. That is why Zeitgeist is smart, it provides a format where people are not forced to fight for an Ideal. So the shift must occur in our minds, the result will be future generations living in a better world. Now we must stray from idealism, we can not solve all violence and problems but we can eliminate most of them . . .

A very simple explanation of why we invaded iraq is that--- iraq was one of the first countries to stop denominating their oil transactions in USD(instead they used Euros). Which may lead to other countries using other currenct like the euro...which affects the stability of the dollar, and actually contracts U.S credit markets as well.
