Your Opinion...Is this Ready?

Thanks for the trich info on the leafs...it help tonight. I'm biting my nails now waiting for the scope camera. Here's a couple pictures with the lights on (I've turned them off several other days already while taking pics).

This is an end bud off Jamaica Airee that I was able to look real close with my hands on the table.
About 20% of the trichs here are light brown.

I'll guess it's 25% of the wet weight... :)(that's what I read anyway LOL) :)

If you already have 20% amber, how much clear do you have?

I was'nt really trying to look that closely on the clear ones, but a guess would be approx. 40-50% clear. The brownish trichs are about half way up solid brown. :leaf::leaf:

Best way to tell is get one of those jewlers loupes. i have one, got it cheap of ebay. look at the trichromes; the small hair like things from the resin rich leaves. when they have turned cloudy and maybe only a few of them are amber, then it is time.
rule of thumb is when they are clear she is not ready, cloudy is harvesting time, cloudy/amber late harvest - more of a couch potato kind of high. majority are amber is too late, alot of the canabinoids are gone.

I would focus more on the amount of clear.
Think of your bud like a Banana.....
Clear trichs are like a green Banana, cloudy is a good Banana, and amber is a brown Banana.
You're never going to be able to get all cloudy with no clear and/ or no Amber, but your goal is to get the least possible.
And, don't forget, it's OK to pull SOME of the plant and leave the rest to continue for more cloudy if you want.

no.... the couch thing is an old wives tale
when trichs get amber, that means thc degrades and cannabinol is starting to peak. cannabinol and thc are both cannabinoids. not enough thc and too much cannibinol won't get you very high.

Thanks for the input. I do have a 30x, but my nervous condition does not help me when I get into the tent and try to drill down on the trichs. I had the wife (much steadier) take a look and she is reporting all clear trichs. I swear, some of these buds look like they are ready right now (pistols brown and drawn in, big swollen buds, etc). Here's one I think is ready. Both pictures (taken yesterday) are the same plant.

I used to think my 30 was OK, but when I got this, I like it a lot better.

we got something hbbum recommended, this. definitely wouldn't recommend it with your shaky hands hehe, it's a bit of a pain in the ass for me, i take adhd meds so sometimes i'm twitchy. LOL. it does come with a tripod tho! it takes amazing pictures once you get the hang of it!

I'm confused miz...you show some great pictures (looks like they are shown at 20x) there, but all the trichs that I see are clear as glass, which tells me that they are no where near ready. But, that's the picture detail that I'm driving at. My scope/camera won't be here til next week...my bad on waiting to order. It also looks like your system has to be directly connect to a computer. Your turn. BTW, love your profile pic of the MJ leaves (lol). Peace... :leaf::leaf:

OK bro, here's a good example.
There's some that look shiny, those are clear, but see how there aren't a lot?
Then, you can see some that look brown/ tan, like it might even be dirt, those are amber.
The white or cotton ball looking ones are cloudy.
