Your favorite strain of all time, and why?

What is your favorite strain of all time, and why is it your favorite?

Please explain with some detail, for example, was it the tastiest, strongest, easy to grow, clone, relieved pain, was a personal breeding project, etc......what made it your favorite?

My favorite of all time was grown by my friend’s father in the 80’s-90’s...he brought back seeds from the middle east and grew her in NorCal where she loved the chill. friend’s family called it “The Afghani”, and I have never seen or found another phenotype that looked the same. It was a big, thick, dark, DARK, leafy classic-Indica looking kush, but the thick golf-ball buds were bright PINK every single time, on every gal he grew, regardless of hydro, soil, temps, stress, whatever. And by “pink” buds, i mean pinker than you’d think possible on cannabis. And, for a landrace, whatever it was exactly, it was STRONG, hard hitting and stoney. I suspect it was an original version of Chitral Kush, Purple Afghani or similar, but I’ve never found it anywhere but in the genetics I got over 30ish years ago, and I’ve grown a bunch of modern afghanis and kushs looking/comparing....nope. I’ve cloned her for years and back crossed to keep her pure. I’ve also bred her with modern strains and those pink buds don’t usually express in the offspring. Only my friend and his brother (their dad died) myself and my first cousin have/grow this strain and its always fun to pull out her pink fat buds for unsuspecting friends and strangers.

My favourite of all time was my grandpa’s Afghan. Smelled like pinesol in a good way and would put me on my ass.

Not a particularly special strain or anything but that shit hit different when he grew it. It’s probably just that he really knew what he was doing with it from start to finish and post-harvest. It was grown, manicured, and cured perfectly, every single time.

He’s dead af now, cops chopped and took everything and I never got cuts from him so that’s pretty wack

I really miss my Blue Streak #2 x Miss Universe #10 cross. She was a sturdy and potent girl. Also really miss my Indica dominant -07 cut of SLH.

Still got some Miss Universe #10 beans for future crosses. Also Kali mist is a must. I'm more of a Sativa guy but grow mostly hybrids nowadays for pain management.

Strawberry Sour Diesel bred by Devils Harvest. The distinct flavor and killer potency kept this strain in my arsenal. A true 2 hitter quitter. I literally drool in my bong like a dog looking at a steak every time I pack a bowl of SSD. The buds are a compact type of structure; not a high yielder but potency makes up for that. In the final weeks if the temps are right they turn a nice purple; absolutely gorgeous bud.
Started out with a 10 pack of seeds several yrs ago. Liked this bud so much i had to keep it so I selected a mother and crossed it with a Candyman Haze daddy by Kingdom Organic Seeds which increased bud mass and added more notes to an already complex and virtually indescribable flavor. Weed taste like sweet berries dipped in fuel...but in a good way.
The original devils harvest SSD lineage is NY Sour Diesel x Strawberry Cough. Both of these elusive strains were available but rare and in high demand in my local area back in the day. Figured that a cross of these 2 should be a winner.
So by that rationale any two strains you like oughta go together fairly well. How could combining 2 good strains turn out bad? That got me thinking... why not select a daddy and make seeds? It was messy and destroyed the yield for that run but now I've got beans for decades. It was all because of that SSD strain I just had to have more of.

mine has been my pink 2.0 from exotic genetix. Strong pain reliever, smelled like skittles an gas and it looked like it came out of a coloring book it was so purple. The buds were dense and it yielded really well.

that’s a great strain I’ve grown myself! I’ve also grown Predator Pink which I believe is part of the crossing/parent of The Pink, very strong and both completly different “pink” than my beloved landrace described above.

Where can you get Kali Mist, I have heard a lot of good things about it for meds.

Alegria. Kiwi Seeds. Sweet Lemonade Sherbert bud!!!

I had it for the first time about 15 years ago...i was on holiday in amsterdam with some friends..when in the first cafe you come to on the corner..just as you cross the busy road from the station..the one with indians painted on the walls.

.anyhow, a dude came out from the service desk and presented a large A1 sized portfolio in the style of a slim HUGE briefcase. He opened it...inside were hundreds of 3.5 baggies filled with glorious sunshine in everysingle bag. It was amazing !!.

..i scanned the various bags of smokable treats and settled on the bag labelled "CAUTION" . I asked what the caution bud was...an intelligent but motled weiry voice heavilly dutch influenced...replied..its Alegria !!..your gonna enjoy this one..

I hastily got back to our chosen table..i remember my other mates smoking NY Diesal...and Morrison haze and jelly hash...but i just rolled a moddest single kL 80/20 bud to baccy ratio.. Sipped my big beerzsc...lol.. and continued to smoke her divine bud..the taste was like lemonade sherbert... Fucking beautiful...and it delivered an ever soaring happy clear buzzed high...no loss of energy and kinda visual.

The bud was super dry, light lime green grinded to almost feathery powder and smelt clean fresh lemony...ill never forget that beautiful strain. - STELTHY :leaf:

Clone only Green Crack. I love how it grows, and it smells super skunky towards the end. It's a lot of people's favorite strain of my harvests. I'm on round 5 and 6 now.

Round 5, 2 weeks ago, at 5 weeks since flip. She's a bit fatter now.

Round 6 vegging in the back right.
