I agree with hell on one thing though. If there has to be violence, I prefer it to be in a fist fight.

But sometimes shit happens and it's best to be prepared IMO.

You didn't get my point. Remember my scenario where the were no guns involved? Let me show you..

Lets say there's no guns. There's a family chilling in the house. A giant ass muscle man comes into the house. The man of the house catches him and dukes it out. The big thief wins the fight. At this point, he can rape the wife, kill the kids, and take anything he wants..

If the man of the house had a gun, the thief wouldn't be able to do shit.
except this in itself is flawed because in reality as it stands today the thief would just bring his own gun and cap you before you even realised what was going on and then he would rape your wife kill your kids and take whatever he wants.

Americans are fucking stupid about there guns. im an Aussie boy and they brought in strict gun laws over here after the port arthur massacre and it was the best thing they ever did. there is no need for people to carry guns or have guns in there home for protection.

Farmers can still have guns, Hunters can still have guns, hell people in gun clubs can still have guns but you need to be licensed and you need to keep your weapons locked in a gun safe when not in use.

its quite plain to see that if guns werent so readily available you would instantly cut down on the crimes of passion where someone loses their temper and reaches for there gun or these idiots like in the story here. this guy driving round in his car carrying a gun for what purpose? to protect himself from people carrying guns. that is just ridiculous. if every person wasnt walking around carrying a gun the need to protect yourself from idiots with guns would be much less

Gun owners need to be responsible..If you say things like " ohhh when I pick up my gun I just want to bust a nut"..then maybe you should not be a gun owner. Guns are made for killing and sometimes wounding. I carry to protect myself and that's when I know I have to transport money or going out of state ( except Illinois:cuss:). If I could make the world gun free I would, but no way in the hell that's going to happen so , I have my times when I feel I need to carry but most times I do not....it would give me ZERO pleasure taking the life of anyone ( pedophile and child molesters excluded ). but I also make no apologies to any fool who breaks into my home with me present..OUT OF BOUNDS !!!!

All of us here have said that we don't just kill people. We avoid it. Personally, I've never killed anybody and I'm damn proud of that.

And I'm sure everybody here has had their fair share of fist fights.

bad people are always gonna have guns. and there will always be gun related crimes but you could sure as hell cut down on the majority of the gun crimes by removing them from the general public.

we still have gun crimes in australia but much much less. and generally speaking innocent people very rarely end up involved in it. its mostly bad people shooting bad people. and honestly if some gun toting wanker came into my house im confident i could handle the situation unless of course he came in with the direct intent to shoot me and caught me unaware. in which case even if i had a gun with me im sure he would shoot me dead before i ever got a chance to get to mine anyway.

I agree.. If they took away guns from the general public, there would be less gun related deaths. Knowing this won't stop somebody from shooting me though. So for now, I'm gonna have a gun purely for protection. I promise I won't kill anybody that doesn't deserve it.

i guess im just never going to get the american psyche.
but i wonder if someone wanted to shoot you do you really think your having a gun is going to stop them?. i mean if i wanted to shoot someone i wouldnt walk in and announce it. i would ring your doorbell and when you opened the door you would be dead. how does having a gun prevent that?
thats how crimes of passion go down and thats why not everyone should have access to a firearm. if the salesman in the story at the start of this thread was carrying a gun would he be any less dead? i doubt it. he was taken completely by surprise by the time he realised what was happening he was already gone. this may have been avoided with stricter gun laws

I'd like for there to be stircter gun laws.. But there's not.

As long as I don't kill any innocent people, I see no harm or anything bad in owning a gun.
