Hey Forever, I'm all subbed for this run. Just in case you're interested I've been mounting CREE bulbs in Home Depot pre-cut PVC in a very simple DIY to use as side and end lighting for my setup. There's a pic in captainmorgan's thread that shows it if you want to see it. Also in the electrical dept of Home Depot they sell these Red Dot outdoor sockets that are adjustable and perfect for mounting quickly in/on almost anything. Plus they use ceramic sockets, which I like for heat. PM me if you want more info and best of luck this run!

Before I make my purchase today,

couple questions

am I better off buying the Home Depot 20w warm white 2700k Crees to supplement/cover shaded areas?

Or or should I go of red spectrum LEDs?

Flood lights?

or stick to the original plan?

Red supplementation all the way............you have enough warm "white" anyways............make sure you get it from a "reliable" source. Lumigrow has a deep red booster/ kessil wide angle red booster/ hans panel has plenty of osram/cree red (630/660)as well or DIY with a QUALITY diodes/cobs.

Wut up Fly. Let's look at it this way. What do you need more for the plants you're growing? More 660-630, which is floods. Or intensity, which is CREEs. Want it now, then HD. Can wait, floods. Like I was saying to you before, I love the idea of the white panel and shooting those red floodlights into the plants from the sides, but the CREEs I got really destroy popcorn buds. Destroys them into BUDS! LOL

It's always a tough pain in the ass call with LED, the cruelest way to grow ;).

God you're so anal :). Anyway that's the prototype. I'm going to remake them soon without the nuts. I just got sidetracked with the F3 project, which you can just make out one of them in the upper right hand corner of that pic I posted. And yeah don't let Supra see that wiring job. OK? LOL

No Cree red bulb I know of offhand, especially at Home Depot, but you do know they have kits for making light bulbs? So you could make you're own custom XP2 630 bulbs if you wanted to. They're not available at HD btw.

Yo so I was about to make a purchase, but something told me to check on CL to see what's up,

i found two C.A.P xtremes for 350$

Supose to be 6 months old, person is desperate for cash, I said I only have 250 for both to spend and she said yea, what you guys think?

they are about 350 new...
Believe they are 130 watts, what little info i have found was limited with no journals on them, but they seem to have good reviews..

C.a.p discontinued those or sold the brand a couple years ago. Long before discount hydro sold c.a.p. / r & m to hydrofarm.. That's all I know about them.. I remember seeing them in their indoor veggie garden. I don't know how well they did. As supplemental lighting they can't hurt. Stand alone lights I don't know.
