Yields seem low

Yield was under an ounce - about 21 grams for a plant in a 3 gal pot. I kept the light about 18 inches above the plant. Most of the time I had it in flower, it was under just the one 315w CMH - thinking that and possible overwatering were the culprits here. Now I have a 600w BD LED in the flower room as well.

I had the ts1000 for my veg as well, and the plants seemed to really like it. That being said, they also weren't getting any roots developed which I'm not sure has to do with the light or overwatering. Wondering if it's a combination of both.

that being said you can use that a benchmark for your lighting/ genetics / medium / feed

315cmh should be 315 dry grams at 1 gram per watt, aim for that

Gotcha - thanks a lot for the education! I am definitely seeing nowhere near 315 dry grams right now haha. I'm going to start by letting the veg plants really dry out, then add some of this root booster in veg. I'm waiting on switching my lights over because I feel like the CMH bangs for flower and I want to keep that rolling.

Yes if your roots aren’t filling out a 3 gal pot it is not a light issue it would be your overwatering if you already know your over watering. How often were you watering? And how much water? Also are you using fabric pots or plastic? It makes a difference when watering

The Cmh will def do you better in flower than that Mars or blackdog and that’s a fact

Monterey Spinosad, 1 oz/gallon, use as a root drench. It's OMRI certified.

Makes sense - I was watering every 3 or 4 days or so, and was watering probably 400-500ml per pot. 3 gal cloth "smart pots". My plan right now is to give the veg plants 6+ days to fully dry out, then watering probably 300ml per pot with root booster, then rinse and repeat.

That’s not enough water. Make sure you uppot start your plants in small containers until the roots fill them then put into your 3 gal. When I run plants in 3 gal pots (hard plastic) I water a half gallon of water every 2-3 days that’s like 1800ml. Smart cloth pots dry out faster than plastic. Also when you water make sure to water slow so that your water is actually wetting your soil and not pouring right out the side of the fabric pots.

Hmm - maybe it's that I'm not giving enough time for roots to spread out into a pot before moving to the 3 gal? I am starting seeds in solo cups then transplanting straight to 3 gal pots - should I be going to 1 gals first? I have friends who go straight from seedlings into 3 gal pots, and aren't having root issues that I'm aware of, so I didn't think that was a problem.

Not a ton of airflow necessarily, but it's also not hot at all under the ts 1000, so I didn't think to need much if any.

Maybe I'm off on frequency, and I had been watering closer to every 3 days, but the 500ml or so per pot is accurate. I'm assuming that underwatering could lead to less dense roots as well.

I should probably be slowing down the watering - I don't see much coming out through the pot, but I do water pretty quickly, so it may be hurting it.

You need more light for bigger yields and bigger buds. Everything else sounds spot on.

I wasn't satisfied with my harvests yields until I upgraded to 1000w Double Ended HPS.
