Yellowing leaves…help!

Everything was fine 2-3 days ago and I look today and notice a significant amount of leaves at the top of the canopy are turning yellowish and some purple in them. I backed off my light a few inches. But I have a Vivosun vs2000 led. I thought you could keep LED lights pretty close to the plant but I had it a couple inches away. I backed it off to about seven or 8 inches off the top of the canopy. I water every 2 to 3 days depending on how dry the soil is And I use the tps starter kit nutrients along with unsulphered blackstrap molasses. Using a 2x4 tent. Temp around 82 during the day low 70s at night. All organic soil with castings. Ph is normal. Using 7 gallon fabric pots. But like I said everything was fine a couple days ago. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Not an expert yet bro but at first glance doesn't look like its lightburn because if you had it for all grow that close you would have know way sooner if that would have been the problem. Write your feeding schedules and quantities, ec/ppm and ph so we can go from there. What we know so far is that the yellowing is on top so that exclude any mobile nutrients deficiencies like nitrogen since they would have shown from the bottom up. Some strains yellow early in flower but not really in that style. I'm boarding a plane lets start doing some research, you probably have an easy problem to fix

This is the closest thing I could find on a first brief research.
Possible Zinc deficiency but lets keep looking.

Also send a few good quality closeup pics of the leaves for better analysis.

Looks like light bleaching. Here's from Vivosun at 12" in the center they are getting hit with 1797 PPFD that's a lot. I'd make sure the light was 18" or a little more but no closer. Hope that helps.

Good looking plant!

Have you tried Calmag ?

I started watering with Calmag every watering and it cleared up in about 3 days.

It was difficult for me to pin down yellowing leaves. I knew that leaves do turn yellow during flowering stage so its a normal plant process.
There are a few deficiencies that look similar, so I started with what seemed like the easiest fix before dumping more nutes on my plants.

Maybe back the light intensity down if you cant raise it

Dimming his light is a great idea.

A light meter would help him and I'd suggest the Photone app if he has an iPhone or a Photobio meter. It's accurate and a lot cheaper then the Apogee that agrees with it.

Calcium deficiency is round punctate orange or rust spots that begin around the top of your plant. Magnesium deficiency begins around the middle of the plant and appears as interveinal chlorosis. I don't see that. His PPFD explains his symptoms and if he can't lower the light he needs to dim it.

Shit I dunno if I can make it go to 16 inches. I’m almost to the top of my tent lol. I’ll see in the morning
Dim it, get the photone app if you have an iPhone or the Photobio meter I mentioned above. You want about 600 to 800 PPFD. I don't run any viparspectra lights mine are all HLG and a Hyphotonflux so I couldn't give you a distance measurement but I'd turn it down to 50% for a few days and then try 75%.

Now I remember... THATS what caused me to use the Calmag, (yellowing started at the top) but it did help the entire plant.

How do I give a thumbs up on these comments ? I cant find the button.

got it! :D
came back to post this helpful link I found on another forum that shows pictures of deficiencies. Curious2Garden is on it!

Organic prolly being the reason man it’s so hard to fully dial in the nutrients that way when I run a full line like lets say AN I don’t have no nutrient issues

I can dim it, I also raised it to about 8 inches. I could jump it to over 12 inches but there’s no in between because I’d have to take the pulleys off and attach the light to my top bar on the tent.

As long as you can dim it you're golden. If you have an iPhone get the Photone app or a small hand held monitor so you know where your PPFD is. @Laughing Grass got a good, inexpensive one she relies on.
