yellowing leaves 6 weeks into flower

Hey all my pineapple chunk is 6 weeks into flower. About 2 weeks ago they started yellowing so I started adding cal mag to the mix but it hasn't seemed to fix things.
I'm in my first dwc using canna nutes flower a and b. Canna boost, cal mag, silica, and pondzyme I'm currently running about 600-800ppm.
I initially thought I was over feeding but I now think its a cal mag deficiency.

Any ideas?

You won't be able to fix your leafs, once there damaged like yours are they will never return to the healthy looking green.
You have to look at the new growth to see if it's healthy.

IMO- you have a Calcium, and Magnesium deficiency.

Chalk it up as experience, you'll finish ok. couple weeks to go.
Use your Cal/Mag every month as a preventative measure through out the whole grow. Veg/Flower

Good Luck on Your Grow.

What kind of water are u using.
I'm using tap water and leaving it out for 24 hours. I had a similar problem last grow around the same time. Not sure if something is in the city water causing these problems. The ppm straight from the tap is 40ppm sp quite low.
I'm thinking of using rainwater next grow.

I've been using cal mag weekly through veg and stopped for 2 weeks in flower then started having deficiencies. So started on the calmag again although I haven't noticed any improvement using cal mag again.
Maybe I'm not using enough calmag (using half strength)?

This has happened to me last grow. Everything healthy and green until a few weeks after changing to hps.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it.
Any experiences ?

Different strain use different amounts. Some strains need a lot more calmag than others. I had a mag deficiency early flower, week 2, on my current grow. 3 different strains and they all showed the def a little bit differently but it all pointed towards mag deficiency. I also have a clone of each plant that the deficiency has shown up in. One of the strains, seedism killawatt is mag hungry, I keep upping the calmag, at full dose and it instantly looks better after a feeding, but water with just ro water once and its right back to early signs of mag deficiency. My other strain cotton candy fixed itself with a half dose of calmag and isnt showing anymore signs. It helps the more you learn a certain strains needs. I wouldnt be shy about giving a full dose of calmag to any well established plant.

Awesome thanks mate. I'm doing a bucket changeover tommrow so ill do a full strength calmag dose and see how she reacts.

major deficiencies. phos, iron, zinc and potassium. You could add more nutes. If they are 8 weekers. I would just let them be. If they go 9 weeks or longer add nutes.

Hard to believe there are that many deficiencies. I have been following the canna grow guide to a tee.
Using all canna nutes. Im sure they have all the goodies in there

all strains use different amounts of various nutes. Like for example. Og's are phos hogs. Purple kush is a calcium hog, etc .. directions doesn't mean anything. Usually start lower than they say. Then up the amount accrodingly. The trick is learning how to read a plant. The first sign of defs add what ever it needs. Don't wait weeks. On the plus side. You should have some very smooth smoke. Also for better taste. Make sure to up the brix levels. Ie sugars / carbs. (not actual sugar).

You might be having a problem with something else like soil temperature for example.

when your soil gets cold you start locking out nutrients, even though there are more than enough there the plant can't absorb them.

Having to wet a soil will do the same thing.

being toxic in some nutrients will lock out other nutrients.

pH will do the same thing, locking out certain nutrients.

IMO- it sounds like you might have something going on like that. somethings out of whack.

Defiently a severe Magnesium deficiency going on. As to why you'll have to check as see what's going on.

Do you check the EC levels in the res/bucket?
I've had similar problems last few grows, I realised that the res was building up too much nutes and the ec levels were way too high. Always seem to happen from around week 4-5 of flowering.
This current grow I've always kept the ec levels below 1.2 and they seem to be doing well.

As I mentioned earlier I picked up on a mag deficiency a few weeks ago so added cal mag as nessasary although the problem hasn't gotten much worse it hasn't gotten any better.
Its my first dwc grow with plenty of successful soil grows under my belt. Its all a learning curve which will ill be the better for in the long run.

Growing in dwc. Bucket temps 18 deg to 22 deg.

make sure your ph is good? just another thought.
Always start the ph at about 5.7 and let it rise to 6.0-6.1. When doing weekly bucket changes.

I have kept the tds at around 600-800ppm ec 1.2-1.4.
I was topping up with nutes every second day for a couple of weeks and found my ec was rising too much. The ppm were hitting 1000ppm when the plant was drinking 4 litres and only leaving 5 liters in the bucket.
So now im onlu topping up with plain phd water every 2 days.

Hydro-
There's no sign of slime or root rot?
You've been cleaning your system with every nutrient change with a hydrogen peroxide solution?

Nah the roots are pearly white and huge filling up the entire buket.
Weekley when I change out the res I clean the bucket with bleach and hot water.

Most likely your water is messing you up.
Your water company might be using Chloramine. It doesn't have a half life of 12-24 hours like Chlorine does.
This stuff stays in your water for a long time.

Your PPM are a little on the low side. Your plant still should look pretty decent.
Make me think it's your water your using. Good idea to invest in a RO/DI (Like was mentioned by Dstar nation) system like a 6 stage 7 if you can get one is even better.

Hope things work out for you Man.
Good Luck on the next Grow. :weed:

Yeah thanks for your time man.I was kinda thinking the same thing. Although I checked our water supply on the web and it says chlorine is in the water not chloramine. My tds out of the tap is only 40ppm.
I do agree I need to invest in a ro filter. Although its just another expense that thr missus won't be too happy about lol

I thought the same thing, that the water supply is no good. I then purchased a RO filter with DI which reduced the ppm to 0.
Same thing, come week 4 tips start burning which pretty much kills the fan leaves by week 6 or so like your plants. No amount of flushing saved them once at that stage.
This current grow I'm doing a couple on RO water and another 2 on normal tap water. Keeping them both under ec 1.2 seems to e doing the trick for me.
Basically feed 6 days then flush with pure RO water for a day but im hand feeding using coco.

Too much potassium or mag can cause calcium def / lock out .

lack of iron and potassium can cause molybdenum and zinc defs too.
