Soil or hydro? 400 watt bulb you should keep light as close to plants as you can get . what are your temps in your room? i read 12 inches. if the temps are kept cool. put you hand under your light if it burns your hand then raise it.
but i would keep around 12 inches from top of your plants. i cant tell what nutes. i dont know what your using. you have to go to the store to get nutes. right?. those guys know it all ask them. take it easy sorry no one else helped.
for the yellow leaves you have to make sure your ph is perfect. in the water and soil.

one thing it could be I know because i had the same problem it could be fertilizers in your soil if you have some fertilizers its bad... and yah i was gonna say if you want your lights closer to your plants get a small fan(no bigger than a computer fan) and you can get your lamp closer to your plants... also I dunno if your using CO2 but if your not try to like talk to them or something(not really talk to them cause they just need the CO2) everyonce and a while when you figure you can. I have heard sugars also can be used as plant food, but i wouldnt use gatorade... I know it has electrolites, but plants cant grow on electrolites.

i have had this issue many times and i always narrow it down to nutrient diffec, unless i have been misting plants directly under a light that is too close...soil if picked in haste can be the cause of this i try to use a peralite massed soil with no nutes so that i know my soil is just soil and then i feed with the apropriate newts on my own so i know whats in there walmart soil is the devils dirt miricle grow can cause hot spots, super thrive can aswell, try a flush if you can and cut down on feedings for a bit and see if it improves...

Ya im using miricale grow for seedlings or something like that. though before my 400 hps lights came in the lights were very close about 2 in. away now about 1.5 feet and used to spray them so that could be it. idk but thanks for all the good info.

Have a good Smoke!

yellow leafs an rusty spots...do your leaf tips look burnt as well...to me it sounds like you a. eather overnuted an are locking out cal-mag an burning with nitrogen b. your ph is off an your locking out-calmag eather way flush with ph'd water for at least a week then feed with a cal mag supplement then begin regular feeding at half strenth...always make sure you ph everything...peace az

i trim all "bad" leaves bc the plant is always producing new ones. u dont want to smoke any of those leaves anyway. also, ive found that the plant grows faster bc the energy used to keep the bad leaves alive can go towards new growth. also, the leaves u cut will allow more light to hit the new growth, it's a triple win situation, 4 if you count the happiness of only looking at green, healthy leaves.
