some people will tell you that's tobacco mosaic virus, and some people will tell you that cannabis can't get tobacco mosaic virus. w/e it is, you can usually grow through it. i'd grow out all the plants i have like that, and then sterilize my pots, throw out that medium, and start fresh after they're done. just to make sure it doesn't get spread...of course, weed can't get tmv, so.......

Now, I'm a firm believer that TMV is not as big a deal as some people make it out to be, but what makes you say that?

i was actually kind of being sarcastic about all the people that will tell you you can't get it in weed, but they can never tell you what it is that looks exactly like it, acts exactly like it, and to the extent it can be treated, is treated the same way as tmv....

I've seen oddly mottled leaves on plants, but it doesn't spread ever. I always chalked up what I saw to localized variegation.
But I'll never be one of those guys who denies tmv isn't capable of infecting cannabis... I'm very interested in observing a potential infection.
I'm one of those folks who is left to wonder, because I've never seen it at all.

it's not just the variegation, that can and does happen naturally. with tmv, or faux-tmv, leaves will grow with a strong curl sideways, and if it's effecting a lot of leaves, the plant can grow slowly. the whole plant doesn't seem as healthy, and yield will suffer. most of the time, though, it doesn't seem to effect enough of the plant to make a major difference. i just clean up good afterwards, better to be paranoid than sorry
