Ps germ more seeds we still have plenty of time and youre dro indoors now lady!!!!!
wow...that sounds homemade littlebat. but it will work perfectly! As far as light goes in my opinion...I would go with 24/0 till they show preflowers then switch it to 18/6....then when you wanna flower pop it over to 12/12. it's that easy.. I would recommend setting everything you have on a timer...the only thing I can't have on a timer right now is my water...but oh well. Everything I have read about sexing plants says it happens in week 2 and 3...well those are the weeks after sprout that you need to have optimum conditions. ie. good humidity and temps. whatever you do...don't use chemical compounds to fix the box like glue or jb weld...the fumes can kill your babies. also you can access your plants anytime...you just need to make sure that the light in the room is low. people say use a green colored light cause the plant doesnt pick up that color in the spectrum...I personally don't care about a green light. I just installed a dimmer switch for my light and dim it...look at it this way...a full moon is pretty damn bright and nature provides light most nights with the moon...so just keep it darker than a full moon...you're set. BTW....why wait to start the others?...just make yourself a bigger cab now that you have one to look at....and if you have any questions you need answered we are all here and it sounds like we are all really handy....one last thing....I think you should start us a new thread for the grow littlebat....your seeds, your thread! and thank you!It seriously is a Rubbermaid with 2 holes cut in the top and an aquarium filter/sprinkler stuck to the bottom, with the electrical cord coming out a hole on the side just under the lid. That's the whole thing.
And they charge $450 for that??? Seriously?I'm really psyched to be growing hydro at the same time I'm growing outdoors. I'm going to the hydro store at some point but it's across town so I haven't gotten there yet. I'm excited to see what they have. After I do this grow and I've learned how it works and seen the results, I may set myself up with at least a 5-plant system. Now that I see how it works it would be ridiculously easy to build one yourself. I mean it's just a Rubbermaid container with an aquarium pump/sprinkler in the bottom stuck on with suction cups. I think I could probably set myself up pretty cheap and easy. I can cut holes in a lid.
I am in full agreement....they are very easy to buildTake the fucker back little bat i can show ya how to make a better one for dirt cheap!!!!!!!!!
hey little bat...your ph is okay at 6.5. I wouldn't recommend adding lemon juice...i hurt some of my plants a while back that way. definitely fit more in the cab if you can....the more plants you have won't affect your wattage...unless they are shading each other. The germination with the cubes will be fine...make sure they stay wet. you can grow with soil in there as well...just dont let it get into your hydro water. and I wanna see pics of this cab setup now that you have pimped your cab. BTW...score on the new shop!So I went to the hydro store and it was great. There's a big hydro emporium about an hour away and I was considering going there, but I called to ask them a few questions and the guy was a total dick. So I decided to check out this tiny little place on the other side of town.
Turns out it was great. Very no-frills, not a gigantic array of nutrients but the whole Fox Farm and Gen Hydro lines. The guy was obviously a huge stoner -- in fact, I think he may have been smoking up when I got there, because there was a sign in the door that said "back at 2:30," and it was 2:20 at the time. So I sat down to wait and then suddenly he came from the back room and opened the door. The window was open with a huge fan blowing and the guy was veeeeeeeeeerrrrrryy chill. Heh. He was super nice and the prices were better than anything I've found online. I told him I had the Supernatural nutes for the grow stage and he said he'd never used them but had heard they were decent. Rather than trying to sell me something else, he actually split a pack of FloraNova nutes -- he said, "You don't need the grow, I'll just sell you the bloom for $5." I bought a pH meter for $7 and a tray of rockwool cubes for $12. You can't beat getting outta the garden store for under $30!!
So anyway, yeah, cool guy, no attitude, great place. I'm psyched to have found it.
Tell me if I'm going about this the right way: I tested the pH of my tap water and it was 6.5. I brought it down to 5.5 with a few drops of lemon juice and I'm soaking ten cubes in it now. I plan to put in 5 papaya and 5 connie and see what happens. So all I need to do is put the cubes inside of baggies and set them in the tray and leave the light on 24 hours, yes? And I should see something in around a week?
Now for two more questions:
1. Since I only have space in my setup for 2 plants, could I put two more in little pots of soil and set those in the cab on the outside of the reservoir and veg until they're ready to go outside? That way I could maybe catch these seedlings up to the ones outside and then have more outdoor plants. Do I have enough light in the cab to do that?
2. Could I grow a plant all the way through in soil inside the cab alongside the hydro plants?
I'm pretty psyched now. I also got a curtain rod to try to fix my jacked-up light...
awesome! I think we should kill this thread and move over to the new one...it's kinda frowned upon I guess to share with others on the site...I say we rocket over there since...WE ALL JUST HAPPEN TO BE GROWING THE SAME STRAIN. lol...see you all thereGo check out my pics and you'll see the cab. I posted them somewhere on one of the boards last night but I forgot where.
I added the lemon juice because that's what the directions on the package of rockwool say. I filled up a big mixing bowl with water and put like two drops of lemon juice in it. The pH was 5.5 so hopefully it will all be good.
I just started a thread for this grow and your seeds went out in the mail this morning. Yay!
