Y socket on a 3 way lamp?

Can this be done? I have one of those 3 way lamp things, and I was wondering if I could buy a Y socket for it, or will this cause a fire. I like more light, but not a burning light if ya catch my drift.

You should be fine.

Just depends what kind of lights and watts your running though.

If your thinking CFLs, you should be good.

Those are all low wattage bulbs.

to be safe, don't go above the normal amount of watts for that fixture. you can get alot of light in 150/250 watts (whichever it is) with cfl's

K cool, I plan on just getting two 42 watt bulbs to grow the rest of it out. Right now I justs have one of the reg 3 way CFL's and it's only 29 wtt but doing a hell of a job for my seedling. I have a small space (PC case) so really Im not looking at a whole lot of light I think that will just cause it to get bigger than it needs to be, I'm not for the best buds out there or a huge harvest just the satisfaction of growing a plant, really tomatos be cool, but I love marijuana and I'll grow what I love. Thank ya ppl, this site rules keep it up.
