hey guys, its been quite the while since ive posted, ive been quite busy.

so, on monday i had fertalised all four of my plants, three of them being drgreenthumbs the dopes, and the one being a sativa bagseed.

now the issue im having is just the other day i had noticed two the plants are forming limegreenish spots on the leaves, some burning at the tip, some burning from the edges in. the two plants that seem to be having these effects are my drgreenthumbs the dopes.

i know it is hard to diagnose an issue as the one i have posted above, without pictures, but i am unable to post any due to an issue with my camera. you guys are the experts, i am an amature, so i could really use some help.

any advice is greatful i cant suffer lossing another plant this season!

the fertaliser i have been using is miricale grow for tomatoes, this is probably around their 3 or 4 time being fertalised, i tend to fertalise around 2 weeks apart.

the plants are all around 2-3 months old and are approx. 3-4 feet tall.

again any advice is greatful, and well appreciated.

happy growing, mr cannabis sativa.

sounds like classic Miracle Burn.
did you PH your nutrients?
how much fert per gallon?
what kind of soil are they in?
how big are they?
were they deficient when you gave them nutrients?
you should probably flush with balanced water.

PS, to get more replys, answer these questions, and people love PICTURES.

i did not PH my nutrients, as i said in my post, i am an amature to this stuff. it is only my second year growing and everything pretty much went spectacular.
how do i go abouts to Ph my nutrients, soil, or water.
what is a good PH, what is a bad PH?

i used half of what it had told me to use in the directions, it is my 3-4 time feedig them and the first time i have had a problem.
aprox. half a tblspoon per gallon.

i used the same soil that i got for last years crop, just some soil a neighbour had bought and left on our property, the plants seemed to love the stuff and it seemed to drain pretty well.

the plants at the moment are around 3-4ft tall.

they were not deficient before i gave the nutrients, as i said above this is the first time i have ever had problems with these plants.

as for balanced water, what exactly do you mean " balanced water "
also, when flushing should i wait untill my soil is dry, or should i flushh right away, currently the soil is still quite moist from the storm we had last night.

as i said for pictures, i am having some difficulties with my camera, my brother thought it would be smart to go swimming and take pictures, and you could only guess what happened, he dropped the camera in the lake, and completely broke my 600 dollar photography camera. i swear my mom picked up the wrong child at the hospital...

go buy a bag of Dolomite Lime or Crushed Oyster shell and add a cup of that to each pot.
a PH meter is a good investment, although with dolomite lime you dont have to worry much about PH.
then FLUSH with 3 times the water to dirt. (5 gal pot=15 gal flush)
next time wait until you see a deficiency THEN fertilize.
if you want some nutrients that have more leeway get some Alaska Fish Emulsion 5-1-1.
theres nothing wrong with Miracle Gro, its just REALLY strong. next time buy ALL PURPOSE 24-8-16 instead of Tomato 18-18-21 (this is what you used, right?) and use SPARINGLY.

Until recently I have skated by without a ph meter, but now that I have one, I can see that I was pretty far off from the ideal ph. I recommend you get one and start taking reading before you feed/water your plants with it. That's what the commenter meant by "balanced" water. If it doesn't have the correct ph it will not help your problem and may make it worse.

Thank you for the help,

where would i be able to by a bag of dolomite lime?

why would i not have to worry about my PH when using the dolomite lime?

and should i flush right now, my soil is still wet to a certain degree from the storm lastnight, should i wait untill my soil dries?

yes i did use miracle gro 18-18-21, you did your research!

again thank you for the help, my cougar will greatly appreciate it!

Since they are outside and they sound like they were drenched in rainwater mother nature probably took care of the flushing for you.

You can find dolomite lime (mine's called horticultural lime) at most places that sell other gardening supplies like soil. If in the unlikely event you can't find any locally, you could shop online.

i hope your right!

what is the difference between horticulteral lime, and dolimite lime, ive been reading up that they come in both pellets and a sort of flour, ive also read that you should avoid the pellets and go for the flour, what is your advice?

and thank you for the help, i really appreciate it!

I think you want to stay away from hydrated lime but I don't really recall. I just know that the shop I went to carried Horticultaral limestone and that's what I have been using since I bought tthe bag forever ago.

yes i read tthat you shoud try to avoid hydrated lime.

how do i go about applying this to my plants, do i mix it in with the soil, add it in with water, am i able to do both?

am i able to use it on my current grow after using miracle gro?

Its not the miracle grow fertilizer, ive used mg nutes many times & have had kick ass results,so have millions of housewives across the nation.

Poor growing skills from new growers coupled with the fact they had other issues durring the grow gives mg a bad rap, your using the correct mg tomatoe fert but i question the strength you applied it at.

Mg nutes are not bad but they are hot (strong) ,on top of them being strong the directions are for tomatoes, anybody who has grown tomatoes as well as mj knows that tomatoes can handel larger doses of fertilizer without burning,mj does not require the same dose nor can it handel it ,even at half strength.
Your feeding schedule of every 2 weeks is too often as well.

From your description of symptoms it sounds like nute burn as well as a direct burn from spilling hot nutrient water on the plants while watering, could it be you spilled nute water on the plant?

Anyhow on to the remedy,it does not require running out & buying expensive botique fertilizers,if your plants are in pots flush 2 to 3 gallons of fresh water to every 1 gallon pot size,(example) a 5 gal pot needs 10 to 15 gallons fresh water ran through the pot, soak with water till it runs free from the bottom & repeat until all water is used up.
If the plants are in the earth flood water the soil as well as surrounding area.

Let soil dry completely from top to bottom before watering again, when watering again water thouroughly until the pots run water freely, but no fertilizer in the water, no matter how long its been since last feeding.

Continue allowing plants to dry out before watering & do not fertilize for 2 to 3 weeks, preferably 3 weeks, when you resume fertilizing mix it up at 1/8 strength then fertilize at that strength every 2 weeks until the end of the grow, when i grew soil i used mg tomatoe ferts with great success mixing at 1/8 strength every 2 weeks when the plants needed watering every other day,any longer between waterings i would push the feeding off until the 3rd week, fertilizing schedules are highly dependant on frequency of watering & general water consumption of the plant.

I know 2 to 3 weeks seems a long time to wait but if you fertilize too early the present damage along with another nute burn will all but assuredly kill your yeild, waiting & fertilizing extremely cautiously from this point on is your best defense against future nute burn.

In the future when working with store bought economy nutes keep em at 1/8 strength until you become accustomed to how strong a mix of the fertilizer your strain can take, after you know how the plants react to that mix you can adjust more or less strength if needed.

by far have you been the most help to me, i had read in quite a few grows that miracle gro for tomatoes was the stuff to use, but when you have quite a few people telling you that you should be using other products, you can easily be convinced.

i never knew tomatoes could handle larger doses of nutrients without burning, some very interesting facts, maybe next time i should cut down on the nutrients to a 1/8 strength, and feed every 3 week preferably as you had quoted.

thank you on the tips for flushing, but i would still like to know if i am able to flush when the soil is still wet from last nights storm, or if i should wait untill the soil beguins to dry.

thank you so much for the information, its greatly appreciated!

i had also splashed the plant a bit, but only at the base of the plant, im almost positive i did not any leaves, but then again you never know. the spots are showing up on many of the leaves, from top, to bottom. i know i didnt splash the top for a fact.
