WW height issues. *PICS INC.*

I have a problem now... My growbox is roughtly 75cms tall (from floor to 5-10cms from HPS bulb. (2'6")

I am going on holiday in 5 weeks for 6-7 days. I would rather trust the CFL while im away because in a wooden box, a baking HPS running while nobody is here could leave me with a very burnt house upon my return...

So i am going to begin flowering when i get back. My plants atm are 5" tall and ive been reading how they double/tripple when in flowering...

I know thats not even half a ft, but if left for 5 weeks, they could be 1 ft/2 ft and then il be having to worry about them touching the HPS...

If this does happen, what do you guys suggest? I could SCROG in my growbox, would that reduce height?

You didnt mention what wattage your hps is. Heat will cause plants to stretch.

I would top them now if you see at least 4 nodes and lay out a nice scrog, at about 1ft tall. You'll need to be a "lst ninja", i think even so. I personally would want them farther than 4" from the light, more like 1ft at the end.

Your timing is tough, by 5wks from now it will be crazy growth. With such limited vertical space and a fast grower like ww, i would think 2-3wks from now to 12/12 would be more like it. If you could somehow slow down their growth now, then you might be ok.

Hey dude, its a 400w HPS but im growing under a nice cool CFL...

I think with most things that happen, il just leave them... i have noticed they dont grow up when they are right up about 2" from the CFL so i could use this to my advantage
