WW 16 Days, growing weird or normal?

It definitely seems to be an indica phenotype... Is this from clone or seed? You could start cloning now if you liked. Either go for the lower branches, or top her which will make her even bushier... a good idea when you just have one plant below the 400w.

Its a WW seed bought from a local Hydro store.

I suppose I could top it, just worried about it gettin too bushy. But typing the side branches down seems to solve that so maybe..

Yeah man your thread is awesome From the beginning I totally agree that the roots are just a vessel to transport nutrients etc to the plant. Ffs I've seen grass grow in huge amounts from the top of a wall between the cracks, no soil anywhere. Ofcourse that is no comparison but just interesting. Its a pity cos this grow is in a 15 litre Autopot which seems a real waste now

Well at least you'll save money next time. You don't need to go as small as I have but you should get along quite well enough in a 2-3litre container... even a one litre, if you dare.

A bit off topic but I have 2 quick questions

1) What is bagseed and is it different from buying seeds from a Hydro shop?

2) At the moment I have a 400HPS. The ballast can also take MH. Now for my next grow (which I am always planning for) should I buy a 400W MH for Vegging, or should I buy a Son Agro HPS which has more blue light than a normal HPS. See cos the MH bulb will cost nearly £40 and MH uses more elec/lumen than HPS. Also is MH that much of an improvement for Vegging that it justifies the cost of buying a MH bulb and extra running costs? Or should I just get a Son Agro and use that all the way through. I think I might have repeated myself, sorry

bagseed was a foreign word to me too when i first came here. i take it to mean seed that comes out of street deals of weed... hence bagseed. I could be wrong, but that's my take on it.

Go with the MH. Why would the mh bulb cost you £40? They go for £20 on ebay... sometimes the shops will send items over to regular listings too at a bit cheaper the price. just put the low end bid in, and unless they're cheating you'll win. So you might get away with even cheaper.

if I am remembering my genetics correctly, triploid is where there are three sets of chromosomes in the nucleus, and not the normal pair (or diploid) - it is a mutation occuring during replication of the cells upon fertilization when the seed if formed.

Whorling is also a genetic mutation.

neither of these are necessarily a problem though - it just gives you a different phenotypic expression (physical appearance or growth form) of the genetic makeup of the plant - the genotype rmains the same, the expression of that genetype is altered by the mutation.

I recently had what i hope was a triploid but was probably just a whorled male,but it was a very strong male and i used to it make some new seed.

Ok cool, MH bulb will be my next purchase. The £40 was how much the Hydro store round the corner sells em for. Any stores in particular you have success with on ebay buying Hydro type stuff? And any particular brand of MH? Cheers man

I bet it's for the same bulbs they charge you £20 for on ebay... cheeky sods. Had the same thing happen to me in my hydro store the first time i went in... after arguing the guy dropped to £25... most of the bulbs are made in china... they're all pretty much the same in that price range. I don't have a favourite, as i have a terrible memory. I just do a search and try and find a bargain.

Hey Guys

Tooks some more pics tonight. Sorry they are bad quality but I had to be quick as the Missus was in bed.

I found out that at night time when I close the door, that the temps were getting really high, about 36C. It doesn't feel that warm cos there is a pretty large fan circulating air, but now I have made the outlet air opening bigger and seems it only gets up to 30C now. Hopefully that isn't too hot.

Tomorow I'm going to start flowering so fingers crossed all goes well.

PS in the pic the temps are really high cos I turned the fan off for a few minutes to take some shots.

30 degrees c is a bit too warm in my opinion...I don't allow my temps to go above 26 degrees c. On the other hand I don't allow temps to go below 21 degrees c. I would make another minor adjustment.

Forgot to mention those pics are of her 30 days old now..

@ Kitty.. I will try my best to get it lower, it's only for about 6 hrs a night it sits at that temp, but then again it shouldn't at all I know. I need to get a wood plain ideally, I tried to file the ends of the door to make the gap bigger, but ended up making a dust storm with no result..

I agree with kitty....seems to me that the odd occassion can be accomodated, but it has the potential to retard growth and over extended periods may have more negative consequences.

Though fdd was saying he has pretty consistent 100 and grows some amazing ...plants....well ok ..... trees! but then again thats outside to and the outdoor environment is different...in the higher temps respiration and other plants processes will be working overtime or possibly shutting down to some degree...? but that's just my logic working...might be different in reality?

Plants look nice and fat and healthy to me,hardly any stretch at all which is always good.
I don't maintain proper temperatures in my cupboard either but i still end up with some fairly good weed so i wouldn't worry to much about slight temperature fluctuations.
All looks good to me so far

In general does the plant look ok though? I know she's a shortass but so damn bushy!!
