go to ebay and buy "space blankets".

you can get 4 for $2.20 each ($9) , including freight,
and they will cover a large area
and are easier to handle.

No Gnome Grown...it's mylar too if it isn't stretched tight. (BTW....I've been a HVAC Master for 22 years if that is a qualification here.

Flat white paint works just as well and will save you the trouble of running all over the place looking for mylar if it isn't readily available.
daaamn dude 22 years is a long time!..i only been in the trade for 4 years now...im guessing u do service or ur a formen?!?..(im a tin knocker)lol..bang and hang son! people hate us tin knockers on the job sites...is it the same with where ur at?!?

Hey Gnome Grown.....nope, not a foreman or super. I now own the company. At least you're on jobsites rather than residences.

No offense on the mylar thing. I just thought he was spinning his wheels looking for mylar when flat white paint works as well and expecting a minimum wage employee to help him out. They're working at Walmart for a reason. :hump:

Like you I wasted my time at home depot and lowes and getting looks like i was an retarded when I asked if they had mylar. The only place found it was at a hydro store somewhere near me. So thats your best bet. I would recommend things like space blankets, i have heard thing like hot spots occur a lot, and it can heat up you grow space a lot.

What about the material from an automotive windshield reflector? I think that they're like 10-15 bucks a pop. Any reason that wouldn't work out?

Mr I Can Do That For Half
Yes no home depot or lowes will have this stuff.A local garden store is like a local nursery but more then likely they wont have it. Every hydro store has it, ebay has it,go to any dolarr general store and look in the gift wrap section for a mettalllic looking color wrapping papper roll called polywrap. Its 1 mil mylar and all silver on the back. The emergency blankets isnt mylar and works on a different priciple as it holds heat in as it allows light to pass through and then holds the retained heat under it to keep you warm in an emergency situation so it will also add heat where used..Flate white paint is excellent choice. The polywrap is 25 feet for a buck its 3 feet wide rolls by 25 feet long.I posted a thread about it with pictures last year here so you can look back in my posts if you need to see it.Ebay is the easiest and can be cheap for actual mylar or lighting reflective materail which is 99% reflective.

glad you scored some. no need for this info now, but perhaps others can gleen from it.

hobby stores commonly carry sheets or rolls of a film used to repair hollow core wings of RC aircraft. gonna see lots of bright colours useless for growing, but they have "silver" as well. its not called mylar, but its the same effect.

ALSO... open a bag of potatoe chips. look inside. hey its mylars cousin. sure, one would have to splice bag after bag together with reflective aluminum tape, but so what. its gonna get thrown in the trash anyway. recycle those munchie scraps. wash the tater grease off first tho...
