WTF My plant Exploded!

I came home from work to find this

I cut off the breakaway parts and stuck them in wet dirt. I dunno what to do with it or if its just gonna be a waste.

Lesson Learned - use some type of support for plants.

This was a Afghan Skunk plants and it was huge.

Anyone have any advice on how to salvage the flowers? They are pretty full grown just was waiting for them to mature.

You should have asked while it still looked like the pix.
You could have supported and duck taped it back together.
I doubt the ones you stuck in the ground will grow.
I would keep that soil super moist until they start fading.

Hate to say it, but if you'd just propped up the branches off the dirt and slapped a load of honey in the wound it may have just carried on with little adverse effect.
On the bright side, you get to smoke it sooner now.

Can I ask, did you FIM it when it was really young?
If so, I would say that this is a perfect example of the advantage of greater internodal spacing on outdoor plants or indoor 'trees' that get huge. Just to on much strain on that one point.

Ouch. Tomato cages will solve your prob next run. Or tie your branches up at aposing intermission if you're gonna top low and multiple times. Evens out the strain and keeps it on the strings for the most part and not the center trunk. If you have more then cage em up since you Know they're gonna be fat girls.

It made for an great pic an interesting lesson that's for sure. That thing just said no mas like someone stuck an m80 in the main.

now i see why those mendo dope boys use those tiny little center cages on the 12 ft monsters they grow

Sorry for being a newb but what is FIM?

Each one of the fallen branches is about 6 ft long with a big ole healthy cola. I'm sure that would have been at least I'm seeing some of the pistols turning red so maybe I'll get something out of it, but I'm guessing it'll go to compost. It easily would have been 1 or 2 lbs. and was looking and smelling so nice There are still 2 branches connected that were smaller, so i'll end up getting a sample of what could have been. For sure this was a learning experience.

Next year I will definitely use some bamboo sticks or something to support them. Tying up the opposite ends sounds like a good idea too... Now that I think about my auto I harvested a few weeks ago.. that one was leaning pretty ridiculously. I'm using the Uncle Ben method to topping and it makes for a nice and bushy plant, but now I can see some additional requirements.

Smoke the buds lost a lot weight and density but. For once in my life I learned a lesson watching someone else make the mistake

If you tie it together again it will heal i had one in my last grow that was holding on by one string and it healed it self with some crazy goo and was all good took a couple of weeks to recover but it did and the funny thing is the cola on it was huge i didnt think it was going to heal as it just looked like it was held together by skin but you will be amazed what this plant can do

it was discovered when some one topped and missed and then said ........ FUCK I MISSED ...

I pruned it with uncle bens topping guide to produce 4 main cola Sad I just finished putting them in compost. I should have asked and then waiting before doing something dumb. I guess that's whats being a newb is all about ^_^ Next time I'll know... support my plants and ask first.

Look on the bright side.... At least you don't have to worry about the controversy of getting light to the bottom buds...
