wtf is wrong with my 3 week old big bud?

Hey people.
This is my second dwc grow just on 3 weeks old now. I'm a bit stuck on what might be wrong with my young one.
Started a few days ago with slight yellowing on first set of true leaves.
Few days later yellowing turns to brown and is looking like a mag diffency.

Here's what's in my soup
Silica, calmag, canna a&b, rhizotonic and pondzyme.

Ph is currently 5.5 although I've been running it at 5.8 most of the first 3 weeks.
Ppm for first 2 weeks was 200ppm.
Ppm for this week 500ppm

I've got a feeling it could be something in my water supply causing problems.
So I've ordered a reverse osmosis filter today to eliminate that problem.

Cheers

Feed at recommended amounts....be sure your using 5ml Ca/Mg per gallon.
I do suspect something in the water......Run RO.
pH to 5.8-6.2......adjust every day and 5.5 is not good.....low is worse then high!
I like to adjust to 6.0 and run that.....Always had real good runs with that.....I know, the whiners will now come out of the woodwork and say "But books say this or that and 5.8 is the goal!" Ed R sets all his computerized run to waste at 6.0! I wonder why?

Yeah thanks for that. I have only been using cal mag at half strength.
I have a tap ppm of only 40 so this could possibly be the culprit.
I have never seen so many deficiencies so early on before.

I am planning on changing the soup tonight. And going up2 the reccomended 700-750 ppm that the cana grow guide suggests.

How long generally will it take the plant to recover from this?

Look like mag. def. to me too. You shouldn't be having deficiency issues with such a small plant @ 500 ppm though. I'm not very familiar with canna nutes especially in dwc. If you use a ph pen, I would make sure it's calibrated or even better yet, double check it with the -- test kit drops -- if you have them. Do the roots look ok? And i'm not sure that jumping 300 ppms in 1 week was such a great idea either for such a youngster.

looks to me like underfeeding N and overfeeding PK

another problem might be too much silica, try feeding half strength~ sometimes less is more and liquid silica IMO should be introduced slowly unless the plant is thriving

Are you using pathogen control? H202 every 4 days?
I'm using pondzyme. Not using h202 if I can get away with it.

I have a decent ph pen which is regularly calibrated so I'm not sure thats not the problem . I've never had an issue like this with such young plants. Esp when they are feeding at 500ppm.
The roots look a little stained from the rhizotonic but not funky or rotten or anything.

Yeah that's a good point about the silica maybe I should ease off. Although im only using half strength as it is. 5ml per 5 gallons.

"recover" from?
The leaves of any damage other then N def.....will not repair to healthy looking. Look for recovery in the new growth..
In hydro it takes 3-5 days for a correction to show
In soil 5-7...

Thanks.
Well the new growth looks a nice shade of green.
I'm going to give them a month (another week) too see if there is any improvement.
She just looks to small for 3 weeks.
I was planning on topping the 5th node.
Is it a bad idea to top if she's a little unhealthy?
