WTF is Sativa and Indica

im real sure what sativa or indica means except that it is a type of plant and im looking for someone to put it in idiot terms for me with out all the scientific crap if possible and if their are any other plant type names, thanks (Eat, Drink,Smoke)

There are 3 main types of pot.

Cannabis Sativa: Has a very long growing period but produces great bud if you have the time. Normally grown outdoor.

Cannabis Indica: Growth cycle is much shorter, normally 90 days or less. Usually a smaller plant and grown indoor.

Cannabis Ruderalis: The strains the begin to flower automatically. (regardless of light cycle)

sativa are usually long thin light green leafs and indaca is usually really dark green or purple and short rounder leafs

Sativa will give you an up lifting, energy boosting type of high.
Indica will give a sedative, tired, couch lock kind of high. Good for those in pain who have trouble sleeping.

The crosses try and give a little of both worlds. I am planning to do a sativa grow my next go around. What I have grown is mostly Indica. Its great, but it does put me in the "I ain't doing shit" kind of a feeling. I like it, but I want to try the Sativa for the energy boosting high.
