Can certain light spectrums coming from an HPS bulb harm a plant? I purchased my HPS lamp that was intended for security purposes and I don't know if I have to replace the bulb or something? Thanks.
Well, High Pressure Sodium is a type of reaction the bulb has. So if the bulb is a HPS bulb, unless theres something extremely different with it, it should produce the proper spectrum for plant growth.
no its only 120 watts I'm using in in combination with CFLs for a kind of trial grow. I figured that because all the bulbs just contained sodium under pressure that it couldn't vary too much... I just wanted to be sure because I have seen special spectrum bulbs that apparently help plant growth but what do I know? I am no expert. Thanks for the reassuring feedback.
I'd be happy to. Is it common for growers to use the combo method? Have any of you heard of this? I have no idea if its common practice... and here I am thinking I am doing something clever or unique.
