Is this similar to a scrog screen but for the individual plants?

Yea that's the basic idea of a scrog but your going to need the screen part to be a lot bigger for any decent size plant, make the round screen part about 3-4ft wide and you might have something there, the idea of scrog is to have a opening in the screen for each cola, that way every cola/bud gets supported and you don't have to worry about tying them up or bracing them with sticks/bamboo etc. The most impressive yields per plant I've ever seen indoors were from scrogs in GH Waterfarm's (DWC/RDWC).

Have you seen (didnt really search) any good SCROG screens for sale?
