Your idea could be the groundwork for a strong comedy, but you need to fill in the gaps with good stuff in between. Really you'd just need good/funny writers and it'd be a good movie IMO.

Exactly! It's not about where they are going, but the adventure of getting there. I know it has some holes that need patching, but I think it's a solid base for a good flick. Any ideas to enhance the story will be accepted with much gratitude. :D

One thing I suggest is that you make it a bit more than to have a smoke with hashbean. It would be to save him or something from some kind of crazyiness and then have a smoke with him. I'm not a good writer, nor an idea man. But it would give it a bit more direction/purpose.

The 'scavenger hunt' type mechanic plays on the almost magical qualities of cannabis paraphernalia and could be an excuse for some random plot elements. Always good for a stoner film. Clever- if it's a dispensary you can get all your grow footage legally. I still wonder though, is it acceptable to smoke on-screen? If you're an organized enough director and you've planned every scene and story boarded it right, it shouldn't matter if your actors are blitzed. Easy Rider used real ganja.

I think a Borat-style docufilm thingie could be awesome. I'd help but my studio is in another country and we don't really do on-location ^^;

If you ever want concept art for key scenes, then I can be slightly more useful.

Who would know if it's real doobage we're smokin? LOL. It still has a LOOOOONg way to go. I jsut came up with the basic idea last night mid-toke. And I didn't know if it was one of those ideas that sound awesome when you'r ebaked, or if it was actually a good idea. ANd thanks for the offer to help man!
