Well lads,

I diyed my own led set up last year, well 2 of them acually.

I used 6 bridgelux eb strips 3500k, powered by thomas research product 350ma 50w driver. I had 12 of them but the plants showed too much light stress so now i use 6.

They are mounted on aluminium sign rails for heatsinks, they get up to around 30'c. They are spaced 2inchs apart and are used in a 16"x20" space.

What if any changes or improvements can be made?

Excellent. You might get away with seven or even eight strips, but it wouldn't necessarily be an improvement. Does the driver have dimming?

Yea the driver has wires there for dimming but i dont have the dimmer switch.

Which would grow more 6 ran at full power or more ran at less power? Im not worried about about electricity cost, im using the leds to keep the heat down.

The addition of some reds for a start.

Far reds are quite easy to apply. Id suggest setting main light and far red on something like a 2 channel sonoff or similar power controller to get them both under the same main timer, if that makes sense.
Use a little (3 mins?) At lights out to trick your plants that theyve slept for 2 hours more which can lead to quicker finishing time.
Carefull though cause over use may lead to stretch
