Would this work

I would like to know if I'm on the right track with what I'm doing...

Ok, I got a 10x 10x by 8 room which I am going to use for 6 1000watt hid s hydro grow (root spa dwc buckets. There is 8 5 gallon buckets per light, so 48 buckets in total). I have 2 inline fans rated at over 1000 cfm per fan, one for intake from outside air, one for exhaust threw a 1000 cfm phresh carbon filter. As well as two duct fans at 400 cfm each, one for intake, the other for exhaust. My lights are not air cooled, so I bought these little clip fans to attatch to the wing reflectors (6 of those fans). This IS a stealth grow so, I intended to install a layer of insulation to the drywall before I attach mylar wrap to the insulation.

Questions
Will the clip fans make a substantial difference in the tempeture hitting my plants? (They don't give off much of a gust)

Would it be better if I used the duct fans to make two more exhaust or intake lines to keep my room temp balanced, as opposed to using them to aid with the inline fans?

Will the layer or insulation make a difference with reducing my heat signature, or will it just give me a higher in room tempeture that will need to be controlled?

Also if there is anything else I'm missing, I would appreciate some experienced input

Thanks upfront , Chong star

One thing I realized in both growing and building PC's, exhaust is far more important than intake. The majority of your air can be passively brought into the room, mostly do to displacement. I would have both inlines for exhaust and let those booster fans be for intake.

Do you think that both exhaust could keep this room low temperature during summer with no ac

Depends on where you're located. 2000/800 Air will be displaced every 24 seconds or 2.5 times per minute which is good. Unless you live in the devil's butthole and your lights have cooltubes/coolhoods, you should be fine.

Lmao devilsvbuthole.. It shouldn't be that bad I'm not in Arizona or Texas or somin I'm in the north east. But no I DONT have cool tubes I got the regular reflector wings, I picked up these small clip fans I plan on attaching to the wing to try and cool down the heat coming from light bulb. Do you think that will give me the same or similar effect as the cool tubes will?

Hey Chong,

With 6 x 1000 watt lights I definitely suggest that you get cool tubes.

Having clip fans on your reflector will only move the hot air around making sure you have reduced hot spots.

Cool tubes will allow you to have little heat dispersed from your lights into your grow room with a closed loop system.

You can have your lights much much closer to the plants with cool tubes.

Closer the better in my opinion.

Do you think the glass tube will reduce my light output on the plants

See what your saying, guess ill get the tubes and use one of those in lines for an exhaust. Thanks for your input BTW this is my first grow, so do you have any other tips I could apply to my grow? Now I plan on using both inlines for exhaust and getting cool tubes for my grow! The only thing I do t have yet is the dwc buckets. Should I get them they are 200 a set, or should I build my own ebb and flo tables

you could also build rdwc system...... for 48 plants I would suggest a chiller ideal temp 68-70 degree res
It all depends on the budget and what your goals are

take it from me . i did the same thing you are doing wit those bat wings.. and i constantly struggled to keep temps down below 79 deg. it just pushed the hot air around. but as soon as i got air cooled reflectors and exhausted all that heat from lights. i could get it down to 70/72 deg . with just a 12 in fan blowing over the tops of plants. and the 10% loss from glass will be gained by lowering say 10 inches closer.i wished i would have had them earlier. would have gotten a higher yield. batwiigs are good for winter grows imo

Budget is about 12-15,00 for the hydroponics of this grow. Looking for something simple( but like I said no there xp growing before ever). So I'm leaning toward the root spa which seems affordable

Bout to look into that, budget for the hydro is around 1,600 max, what system do you use?

That makes a lot of sence, bout to order these cool tubes from amazon, I AM gonna take your word for it! Thanks dude

Where in the world are you Chong?

I think Flood and Drain is a great simple system that isn't super expensive and has almost no maintenance.

Very few parts to fail.
Great simple hydro grow.
Highly recommend to people new to growing.

I agree with 420 100%!

You will have the light much closer to the canopy with an air cooled hood or cool tubes running a closed circuit which will allow you to control the heat easily.

Yes as much as 10% loss
IF you run open you really need 2 ton a/c for cooling
Like Qball said, need aircon if your lights are not going to be cooled.

Well, I like the idea of flood and drain a lot better too. The main reason I switch focus to the dwc buckets is because the ebb and flo systems for sale seem more expensive for what I THINK will work, mind you I'm not completely sure. Meaning.. I didn't think that 50 gallon tote system that will house like 6 2gallon netty pots would bring me give or take a pound per light (god willing). They also have those kits with like 8 5gallon bucket ebb and flow with reservoir but those would exceed my budget by another 1,000. What type of affordable system could I buy or even better build, that I could put under the 1k his that will bring me a favorable yield

Oh and I agree with you, I'm looking for 8 inch cool tubes now! Since I'm probably going to use both inline fans for exhaust now which pull 300 watt each, an aircon is wayy out of the question

Hey Chong,

Do you already have the lighting?
You said 6 x 1000 lights.
The cool tubes for the lights will put you over the budget alone won't they?

Not sure where in the world you are so I can comment about cost of the system.

I would suggest make your first grow is a small scale production. Test your gear and knowledge in your new hobby.
You may make some mistakes without damaging a large harvest.

Once you have tested everything you can scale the op to any size you wish.
This allows you time to focus on growing mums and taking plenty of cloned for you full scale op while you are doing your "test run"

I have the lights already yes, and no the cool tubes will not put me over budget for them. My budget for the hydro system is 1,600 but id rather make it then buy it anyway to not only save but get a better knowledge of the systems. Do you use hydro? If you do what system will get at me good yield even in my TEST RUN. K and I'm in Connecticut usA

Not that I know of, I'm about an hour away from Hartford but you should be able to find something good in Danbury. There is always DC, which is where i plan to go with this:blsmoke:
