Would this work to reduce heat?

I am growing 5 plants in a 4x4x9 mylar enclosure in my walk in closet with a 400w hps with a cooling tube. I am having some heat issues and am looking into inline duct fans. The problem is I dont know where to exhaust the hot air to because my closet is basically a dead end. So i recently got an idea...What if I connected cooling tube to a duct fan which blew the hot air through ducting into a large storage container (about 2x3x2) half full of water. This way I can just keep this container in the corner of my closet out and out of the way. Keep in mind that this is a random thought I had with no supporting facts or theories lol. Anyways, would the water in the container absorb the heat? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

that would lead to humidity problems, all that hot air in a container full of water, then pumped back into your enclosure?

you need fresh air somehow

in my opinion, you need to get that old air out and away, preferably not into the same room your growing in.
if you can duct the air out of the room into a wall or ceiling or crawl space, you can just open a hole in your enclosure, put a filter in front of it and the negative pressure will bring cool new air inside the tent.

The water would absorb some of the heat, but it would just warm up pretty quickly and not make a difference except for a spike in humidity. Can you keep your closet door open and run the ducting out into your room? That'd be better. Running it outside would be ideal. Maybe you'll need a hole saw.

its known as a passive intake, but you need to make sure its light tight, unless you can make sure your closet is completely dark during lights out

Thats some good thinking but i have no idea sry just wanted to sub up and see opinions. Ac unit if you can get it would be the best just run ducting from it the the closet and hot air out the window something like that might work but you need a carbon scrubber too if your blowing air outside.
