Would this work for a mother plant?

If I stick a 1-2' mother (inside a 5 gallon bucket) into a large contraption I made out of wood with a stand up lamp using 65W 6500k light can it stay there on 24/0 for a year while I just take clones?

I would get some wyes and split some more cfls on her to give her a boost but that should keep her alive if thats the concern. good luck!!

I'm not sure how to add CFLS to the sides and such without spending a lot of money on adjustable fixtures

get a table lamp, goose neck table lamp with a clamp base $5 bucks at walmart. perfect for side lighting as you can shine it in the perfect direction and adjust it

Can you take clones for a year? Yes.

Will one 65 W do the trick? How many clones are you taking? 65W might do you alright if you take clones rarely. If you are going for production, you want your mother to have enough light to create enough clones fast enough.

65w isn't enough for anything I would call a mother plant, but yes you can use one plant as a mother as long as you can keep her happy. If your going to have it growing for over a year, give it a good sized pot, a nice florescent/compact florescent light and you'll do nicely. She'll grow to be huge over that time, and you can take the nice branches that come as babies.
