Would like your input

hello I recently got my medical growers licence and I will be setting up a 10x10x10 grow room using soil and the no till organic method to grow using smart pots, I was looking to go with 4- 630watt cmh in the room so that I can fill the room with plants and just have a walk ways in and down through each side for maintenance on them and for watering, I would like to get your input on it. I will be climate controlling the room also. Thanks!

I tested a 600 watt CMH against DE 1kW HPS. The 600 was way behind the HPS, now I have a 1kW CMH bulb in that spot since the plant stayed shorter under the 600. The 1kW CMH looks like it will do almost what a 1000 watt HPS does yield wise. If I were setting up I would stick with the HPS personally.

Congrats on getting your medical card. I like to be able to walk around at least 3 sides of my plants so I can maintain them and make sure there aren’t any issues with any of them. I typically leave about 18-24” of walking room on the outside, so in your 10x10 room it would leave me with a 6x8 to 7x8 area for growing. I think either area would be pretty decent for 4 HIDs, but if I were using HID I’d probably follow @Renfro advice and go with a DE HPS.
