Any suggestions accepted. Its in an open room about 14x10 but set to a 4x4 tarp.

would a room that is 14x10 have significant heating issues with a 400watt mh/hps? I understand it will get warmer but with the AC at a steady 70 it should be ok or no?

temps should be just fine, again, provided you have the proper ventilation. Is it a Sunburst complete setup,or a hood and separate ballast? If separate,is it air cooled? If yes, then you will be just fine.

do you know any better for around the same price?

Another question would be with that above light do I NEED to aircool it? like will it catch fire or get too hot if i dont?

Does anyone have any ideas on my last posT?

I have more of a question..

this is another link for a 400 watt.. what I find questionable is it shows these specs on the page.... Now 175 watt MH & 150 watt HPS. do both lights run at the same time? Or no? im confused on how the 400 w mh/hps systems work.

I have the Sunburst 400watt for my smaller plants, and found that it desperately needs to be air cooled,as the ballast and the light that close cause some major heat.I got a 4" flange, mounted it to the light above the ballast, then put that into a 6"to4" reducer to my 6" fan,and the heat was gone.Hope this helps.

I was doing the math on the 400 watt hps covering a 4x4 area and if I divide the total square ft (16) into the 55,000 lumens that the hps provides that means im only getting 3437 lumes per sq ft. I thought you needed atleast 7000 - 10000 for healthy production. Am I wrong?
