Would a 250 watt light bulb work on a FLORALUX 400 watt HPS Grow Light system

I recently just got a 400 watt floralux system today for my plants. I plugged it in and it increase my room temp dramatically to at least 98 degrees. I have a brand new HPS 250 watt light bulb on the side and would like to use that since it will not emit as much heat as the 400 watt. Will it work with my 400 watt ballast? Will there be any malfunctions or fire hazard that will occur? I'd figure if i just use the 250 watt bulb for 1 plant it'll be better and less heat.

No....it may work for a little bit, but it will blow.....ur ballast puts out 400w into a 250w bulb.....

a few things to deal with heat it of course ventilation. but also co2 helps the plant deal with high temps and also mixing in h2o2 in the water....I hear its suppose to kill of bad things that can harm ur roots, and also help the roots deal with the heat...

i use a 100 watt hps for my 250 watt fixture and it works fine. if you put in a 25 watt cfl in a high watt fixture it will work. but i'm not sure about high watt bulbs so you might want to get a third persons advice on it
