Worst seedling you were able to save

Here’s an update on the Bruce Banner. What a good looking plant. The calyx are so swollen I’m getting nervous there might be seeds.

Fucking seeds are everywhere. Looks like the Bruce banner is the worst. I’m assuming that means it started with that strain? The other plants only have a few spots here and there. I knew that plant was too good to be true.

So trash and start over? What do I clean my tent with? Seeds are all over just waiting to fall out. :wall:
Plain water pretty much takes care of the pollen, making it inviable.

Now you know what bananas look like, be diligent in the future. This is one of the main reasons why commercial growers only grow clones from proven mothers and limit running new genetics to a non production space. One plant with nanners can ruin a whole room.

So you’re saying I should have caught them before they popped? What would cause it genetics? Is it safe to assume the rest of the seeds in the pack will also do this? Thanks in advance.

Anytime you are running an unproven cultivar you should inspect it closely every day of flower to inspect for bananas. If you see one, yank that plant and dispose of it. Thats how I deal with running new genetics. Small time personal growers with only one plant may choose to pick the nanners by hand each day using tweezers, before they open and drop pollen, often this is able to keep the pollen to a minimum and allow them to harvest some nug, that said it's not something you wanna be doing on any sort of scale lol.

Indeed. It is mostly a genetic thing, this is why plants grown from bag seed usually make bananas, thats how the bag seed came to be in the first place.

Bananas can be caused by stress, usually irregularity with the light schedule during flower. That said, it's usually just genetic and even in the best conditions they would show up.

The light schedule is on point I have it on a timer and I’m up and home most of the time checking it. I sleep in the basement with the tent. So If anything was off I would have caught it. We did have power go out for a little bit but the lights never came on when they weren’t supposed to. My basement is dark no windows.

I’m going to try another run and not do that strain. Thanks for the help.

I am sorry to hear you are dealing with the nanners. Don't let it get ya down, it happens.

When I am starting a grow and don't have any genetics, I get as many as I can, sprout them, get clones of each to keep in veg, flower them and watch closely for nanners. Tossing any plants and their vegging mate if I find them. This first run wasn't for anything but weeding out the nanner producers and males and the first cull of stuff that has no chance of ever making market. It's not a run for weight, maybe a little personal smoke. The next run I grow clones off the remaining vegging mothers and on this run I invest the time to actually get them big and I will, out of that run, determine who the winners are for production. The more strains you shotgun the better chance you have of finding one that is a real producer (weight) of chronic. When I first moved to Colorado I grew nearly 30 different strains, narrowed it down to one true winner that I ran for a few years.

Fingers crossed that it only affected one, but odds are you'll probably get a few seeds. Hopefully its limited.

I can deal with a few. It was 4am when I pulled it this morning. I will take more time when I get home. I can live with the seeds I just need to check them all real good.

Came home yesterday to this.
Apologies for the HPS

Couple questions.
1 is this ready to harvest?
2 does anyone see anything wrong?
3 should I flush?
4 will this help get light to the bottom side of the plant to make my lower buds bigger?

Seriously though

Bruce Banner is the strain. It’s in Roots Organic. I woke up yesterday and felt the pot. It felt like it would make it and I didn’t want to over water. After seeing it upside down I watered it.

Two hours went by checked the tent again here it is.

Moral of the post new growers don’t give up or freak out. Stay calm and be patient.
From the information I've gathered on the internet, I'd say she still needs a couple weeks, there bud.

As far as worst seedling I ever saved? It gre kinda tall and then it just lost power in its neck, and ended up like that one disabled turkey from SouthPark with his head on the ground. I just burried it I the ground (it was In a Dixie cup) and it ended up having topped itself. Turned out to be male though, had to pull it. That was a while ago now. Heres it's sister now:
