First week since flip. Plants look happh and growth is good. Only one thing to speak of which happen about 8 hrs ago. Whilst trying to bend one of my main cola I accidentally broke it :wall:. An accidental topping. Im hoping its early enough in flower that it can recover.20150318_231538.jpg20150318_231538.jpg 20150319_054347.jpg 20150318_231538.jpg 20150319_054347.jpg 20150319_054403.jpg

I ran the afghan kush special for a few years. It is a very nice plant. The cut I ran took longer than a typical indica, but it yielded really nice and was very easy to grow.

just to let u know in the future if u ever brake a branch like that again,, if u imediatly put it back together, put a toothpic on the side for support and rap it with electrical tape,, in most cases in about a week u can gently remove the tape itll leave a bump like its been supercropped but it will survive..or just leave the tape on it, you will know in a week to 2 weeks if the leaves are up it healed if the leaves are all still sagging its lost..but ive had a couple bad breaks heal using a toothpic and tape...

a friend of mine used a toothpic and tape to put a branch off my northern lights onto his super crystal mother.. i cut it like a clone on a 45* angle, he cut a branch of the same size off his super crystal, put them together, used the toothpic for support, taped it and to my amazement a week later he took the tape off and there it was,, healed together!!! he said now i can get 2 different strains off this mother... i was simply amazed,, but ive tried it a few times now and as long as they are both about the same size and cut on the same angle it works like a charm..try it for yourself and see!!!

It's called grafting, and typically it is done with a rootball and stem of an established plant with the vegging top and stalk of another plant. Very popular with japanese maples and american maple trees.

Just finished entering the third week of flower. Got some twine caught in my rez pump but apart from that no issues. Cleared out the under folaige also. 20150328_041346.jpg20150328_041408.jpg 20150328_041346.jpg 20150328_041343.jpg 20150328_041352.jpg 20150328_041408.jpg 20150328_041346.jpg 20150328_041343.jpg 20150328_041352.jpg

i loved my old flood n drain system, 4x4 table and used 4x4 inch rockwool cubes, no grow rocks, just 4x4 rockwool cubes and everything ran great for 10+ years.. i switched to a nft/dwc/ undercurrent thing i built myself w/ 4 inch pvc, and 3inch net pots w/ rockwool about a year ago..works well, yields are good, but i miss my old flood n drain system, less work and roughly same yields per sq ft..i was in a 4x4 area now im in a 5x6 area, im saving cash on 3 inch cubes insted of 4 inch, but if i can get a 5ftx6ft flood table for a good price i may switch back, i liked that i was able to move plants around w/out damage to roots, now once they are in, they cant be moved or even turned because the roots are in the pvc..pluss in my old table i could add a plant if i had to, even crowded together, now once all 30 holes are filled i cant add to it..

Has anyone had a diference in yields going from flood n drain to dwc? i noticed i get much bigger root structures now, but yields per sq ft are just about the same...How is dwc any better than flood n drain or vice versa?

u can see my set up at my journal..

is that ur world of seeds afghan? my plant is almost mature enough to clone now. but looks completely dif then urs. my fan leaves are so wide they overlap each other..also its the same age as a dynamite fem and an og kush fem, the afghan has seemed to slow its upward growth at 2 ft, the dynamite at 2 n a half ft and the og is 3 ft and still climbing..seems my afghan will stay short in veg and i doubt itll stretch much in flower..ive noticed my indica dom plants rarely stretch more than 6=10inches in flower..how tall are ur ladies? hard to tell height in pics..

That sounds like what it should be like, Its meant to be practically pure indica. Different phenos are expected though .... seeds are random none will be completely identical.

Mine are about two feet. I did notice the leave blades look abit sativaish. And like you I thought they would be broader.

Some more pics. Nothing much else to report. Temps spiked at 27.5C at canopy. Changed rez ph was at 6.6 for a few hours now at 5.6. No deficiencies apart from slight purpling of stems they seem very calmag hungry.

Loving the smell thats permeating from these plant. A mix a the subtle citrussy Kush and hash.
Flushed for 24 hours and have now completely cut out the nitrogen this week adding just micro and bloom feed. I suppose its a kind of Lucas formula. Leaves really are crystalline im gonna have to learn what too do with those sugar leaves.
Temps pretty much bang on peaking at 27.5C and ph being 5.6 at its lowest and 5.8 most of the time. Buds are nice and firm and still no sign of plant cannibalisation.
This should be a good smoke. Pics later.
