added a base to give a little bottom weight for my top heavy girl as she was becoming very unstable and almost fell over on me.....she is damn stable now

I'll likely curse having put so many rocks in the base as I move her into a dark room every evening

LOL :) im not lifting 90l dwc :D
Think the biggest "point" of hydro is not using soil. Second might be bigger plants in smaller containers. Never thought soil was heavier than water :):P I kid i kid. The problem seems to be when hempys dry out they are heavier on the top than the bottom and that can cause some messed up situations moving the girls around.

LOL! I definitely takes a lot of touch and feel to get used to hempy buckets!! You need to lift them and feel how heavy they are when dry versus how heavy they are when just filled. Some practice makes perfect and you eventually get it down. I usually start with watering every other day and see how that works. When it is really dry out I may need to add every day versus humid days where I may not be adding water every 3 days or so. bongsmilie

Anyone have any experience with Growlite OG hoods? What ive read about them sounds killer. Their 600w hood is supposed to have more usable light than a standard 1000w! Im asking because I have a chance to buy one for $175. It's been removed from the box but never used and they usually sell for around $280. Any thoughts?

Hey SS, well I admit I do not know much about it, but I know a goddamn deal when I hear one!!!! So heck yeah, if you can get something near new for over $100 off what it sells for then I say go for it on simple economics alone!! bongsmilie

What do you mean by favorite grow? As in personal grow? Strain? Hempy grow?

If it is personal grow then it is probably my very first grow ten some odd years ago. I grew in a home made grow box, under a 430w Sun Agro HPS bulb. It was a soil grow, and I was starting from bag seed. I got lucky and nearly all were female. I had one that was a mega-producer!! This thing had HUGE buds all up and down it, it easily yielded 6-8 oz. all by itself. Unfortunately I did not clone that particular one, something I still kick myself in the ass for to this day. I don't know if it was simply beginner's luck, but I have never been able to find a producer like that one plant. bongsmilie

There's a lot of wonderful points to hydro. The fact that you can pump water and that it doesn't involve bringing dirt in the house are the biggest to me :) I was joking around more than anything though.

Mine would probably the bagseed plant that my brother and I grew inside a
pine tree, otherwise in plain sight, on my parents land in the late 70's.

It got to 5' tall and we thought it was a tree. :0)

Nice topic Who! Here's my entry...

CH9 "Cluster", a cross between Amsterdam "Flame" and Ed Rosenthals "Super Bud". It was a medium sized plant that produced a huge cola...smoke that had a strawberry sour taste with just enough sativa over the indy to make it non-couch. Absolutely a pleasure to grow with no bad tendencies,,,,except getting top heavy and we can all live with that.

Holy shit Jela! That's freakin fantastic! Did you grow more than that one? Just wondering if that's normal for the strain or you worked some kind of voodoo shit! Great job either way. (And I'm open to learn voodoo if thats the secret! Lol)
