What do you guys think of sinking a few hempy buckets in the ground as part of a guerrilla grow? I'm thinking of starting one next season. I don't see a problem with it if I use some rocks or something in the hole with it to allow space for it to drain properly. And it seems like it would be better to bury it so it wouldn't be prone to falling over. Just a thought though.

The bud looks like it tastes nice but also a little scrappy. Did you give them long enough to finish?

What strain? Looks like a Haze to me.

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. I would also cover the top layer with rocks to prevent the mix washing or blowing away.

Couple bud shots of my girls coming down saturday. This blue dream (1st pic) actually looks fairly mature fo 8 weeks. Im sure if i left another week it would get better but time aint on its side lol. Second pic is Elephant. Purple sour D but no purple. Been crazy warm here lately.IMG_20121003_005137.jpgIMG_20121003_005034.jpgIMG_20121003_005154.jpg

SCRAPPY!!!:cuss: lol...

They are early harvests per say.The dried bud comming out of the jar is Northern Berry (actualy HGS Big Blue),partialy harvested 2 weeks early. The bud with the polar bear is TGA Spacequeen, partialy harvested at day 30 of 12/12.I partial harvest for tests, and what not. They are under floros so the buds do not swell up like they do with HID's.Running perpetualy in a small space leaves me with no complaints.I am still dialing in the set up,and strains.I am also suspect of the Spacequeen may have some Tiny Bomb in her???Tiny Bomb is a pheno expression of low yield but high potency from Spacequeen, but not often found.

pic day 41 Spacequeen (lemon lime smell)
So far the Northern Berry type strain is giving me 14g per plant of cured bud.
I am still working other strains to see what techniques to apply for yield. The NB was my first run thru with this set up.

BTW...The dried uncured SQ bud is pretty freaken potent for day 30...

Only thing I can think of besides space for draining is there needs to be some airflow for the space between the drain hole, and the top of bucket. Some camo mesh or burlap can be used as a cover for breathability, and debris screen.

Love this Thread; I have never grown hempy but I do plan to try to fit one in my cab next grow for experimental purposes vs a reusable grocery bag airpot with coco/perlite(also will be first time). The Strain will be Big Bang auto flower from Green House Seed Co. Moebius you fucking ROCK keep up the good work! Think I already hit ya with + rep.(hope your neighbour lady problem is all copacetic). Will post pictures when I start my hempy project after this grow. Keep up the good work hempy lovers.

Oops 3rd pic is ssh x ? Not sure where my sour d pic is.

Nice big bomb plant. I have a couple berry bomb seedlings. They are growing with very sativa traits.

Wow dalek that space queen looks amazing. Is SQ a haze variant?
http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/SpaceJill/TGA_Subcool_Seeds/ Spacequeen/Jill has Haze in it.

Thks...I really lucked out.Single Seed Center, and 1 single seed purchase. If it was a male then I had something for my future Jillybean.
The pics are day 23 of 12/12. 7 days later I harvested the main stalk, and let the bushy site bulk up.I am topping her next time,it is my first run.Judging from the tester buds.....WOW!

She stretched real quick then as she slowed I had to nip the top by day 14. Space Bomb is something to look into.

I think it would produce great, the only short coming I see, is if this a real guerrilla grow, you will have to be in there almost everyday. And it will be everyday to water from mid July on. My 3 gal bucket on the deck outside takes 1 1/4gal of feed water a day. You'll have a well worn path to the patch by next fall.

Good point WattSaver.

Feeding will be tricky. Ive never gone Guerrilla myself, but I would imagine those dudes are amending their soil enough to carry the plant through most of the growth cycle. Feeding with inorganics will be a daily chore, especially in straight Perlite.

The key will be to find a substrate that will hold moisture long enough and maybe have some NPK inside.
Other factors to consider will be bucket size, Strain grown, and time of year planted.

..............

I think an Auto might work ok (never done one myself)
Mapito, holds a lot of moisture and has some Coco too. Mixed with soil, it would be great...... Alternatively, maybe a soil and mini rockwool mix. or even an ALL soil Hempy. ... You could create the perfect super soil in a 2 gal bucket with a Auto already planted and just drop it in a hole somewhere.

mind my rambling thoughts :joint:

Cheers Sobs, welcome to :leaf:W.O.H:leaf:

thanks for the new word 'Copacetic' ... I googled it, and yes, everything is in excellent order. My DIY ona gel works a treat and just a little in the communal area covers any residual smell from my joints.

I for one am quite keen to see what you come up with, it would be great to see pics of your Hempy's.:-P

Thks Moeb.Yea...The hell with the deadline the editors at HT are facing, they can run stock.I decided to grace WOH with my Angelic Spacequeens instead. :-)

Guerilla
Would the bucket be deep enough to keep cool.Would you run a sterile,or Benny res?Pro Tek helps with drought/insect resistance.
would you bury a feeder res next to it,with battery powered pump, and digital timer?Have a tiger trap, and when Rippers fall thru they land on a pile of decapitated dolls...they never come back to your grow.

I wouldn't do guerrilla because if I got caught with a single plant on the road it would jeopardize my bigger project. But hypothetically;

Temps
Ground temps aren't an issue in many parts, even in summer. Underground temp would be several degrees lower than ambient temp anyhow, the only way to know for sure would be to try it. For me, no problem.

Res
Outdoors the 'res' could not be sterile, I would make a mix similar to the 'airy' mix I make for clones. 50/50 Compost/Perlite. And maybe the bottom 4 inches in Hydroton. The beauty would be, because the mix is 'airy' one could just walk by with a bottle and dump some inorganic solution around the plant and it would just sink through. The compost in the mix would provide a buffer.

edit:
btw ... my current soil hempy experiment is far behind its Mapito equivalent. (pics posted soon)

edit2:
I forgot who brought up the idea but im going to do it in my garden next summer with a miniature auto like Lowryder and 2L bucket.

Damn, no purple pheno's coming out on that PSD. ... I hope I get some with the Ken's Grand daddy Purple. ... I think the genes will do the work but I'll just keep the fans on full at night to make it chilly.

LOL@elephant. Its appropriately named. Is it the largest?
