I'm currently trying to bring power to my lights but as i am in a storage closet and there are no outlets i want to tap into the light switch which is powered from the light. Now my question is can i safely work with out turning the power off as i don't have access to the breaker, or if not any tips or advice on minimizing risks. Thank you

They actually make outlets that you can screw into light outlets, something like this maybe?

Extension cords! Don't mess with electricity if you have no idea what you are doing. What is pictured above is good for minimal load, so be sure and check the rating before plugging everything in. I would say extension cords would be your safest bets..... And if you did have access to the breaker, I would remove the light socket and wire outlets there, not at the light switch....

Be careful around electricity and water with that. It's not a grounded adapter, so I would be very cautious on touching things that are damp.
