i just bought a 10 gallon tub, some tubes, 2 5inch bubble things that attach to the tubes, a cheap pump that blows the bubbles, 4 net buckets for the plants, hydrotons, PH up and down, olivia cloning gel.

- Does it really matter how much and fast the bubbles are coming up?
because my 2 little bubblers push out bubbles slower when i place them deeper into the tub.
- Does it matter if im using tap water? (thats what i filled the tub up with)
- what type of meter am i looking for? i was told i need to measure ph. i have no idea what the name or what it even looks like.
- what type of nutes do i need to buy and how do i use them? miracle grow?

It matters about the bubbles. You will need a bigger pump and stones. Tap water can be ok if it is not too hard. RO water is much better. Go to ebay and search pH meter and get a Hannah for 30-40 bucks. You will also need a bottle of 7.0 calibration solution and a bottle of good (not aquarium) pH down. I strongly advise good hydro nutes from a company like Humboldt or AN. You might want to read the link below on bubbles.

You need to know the quality of your tap water, then maybe you can use it maybe not. I use Humboldt Master A&B and am very happy.

purchase a 10 watt air pump and some nice nutrients (jacks classic-very cheap, Advanced nutrients-expensive, General Hydroponics-affordable) each will work, ph meter, ppm meter, an HPS for flowering and T5's for vegging. you already have some good cloning gel. If your gonna be taking cuttings look into making a cloner ( a small-scale version of DWC for rooting clones ) Use your ppm and ph meters to decide if your tap water is of good quality.

ok so my understanding is i need a
- PPM meter
- PH meter
- Some nutrients
(but what type of nutrients? im still confused, i need to know for what reason. like for vegging what type of nutrients and why, same for flowering.) srry im ah noob when it comes to hydro, this is my first time ever lol so please bear with me.
im trying to learn everything i can about the nutes and how to use them because i dont wanna mess everything up. i heard that hydro isnt very forgiving....

i am still amazed, and I really shouldn't be, at the questions that are asked here.. Every thing you have asked so far can be found on the internet, or at this site. All you need to do is a little bit of research and some reading and you'd have the answers you're looking for. AND, you're growing culture would be improved because you ferreted out the info on your own...

Good luck to you...
