Hi I'm a noobie and I was wondering if anyone could help me? I started to germinate my seeds, Pakistani valley, and I just put them in the soil about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch down and watered them. I was wondering how long will it take for them to sprout and should I have done the paper towel method? Also should I use light for the seed to sprout up? If you can help me it would be MUCH appreciated.

Seed germ times in soil can very but typically withing 3-7 days. There's nothing wrong with planting right into soil, I prefer the paper towel method but have also had good luck just throwing them in. I don't do light on my beans until I see one break ground, but thats just to save energy.... good luck

3~7days.

Your method is the most natural method. It's harmful for your roots to be every exposed to any light. I have the lights on because it keeps my box warm, but if you can control temperatures you don't really need any light. I also like to have the lights on when the first leaves show up so I just keep it on but it's just my opinion.
