Wk 14 - Still not amber + new pistels

So I have a plant that I flipped to 12-12 flower 14 weeks ago, then 2 weeks ago I flipped them to 10(on)-14(off) hours to try to hurry them along.
Its still producing new white pistels and the trichromes aren't cloudy or amber yet.

Setup:
I have 2 plants in a 2x4 with a 240W QB, which are at 65F with lights off and 75F with lights on.

I figure I will cut them down this weekend, but what the heck can cause that to happen? They plants are definitely flowering, and I don't see any hermies so I don't think it's a lighting issue but I want to know what to do better on my next grow.

I attached some pics and I am confused!

I was using botanicare flowering nutes at the 'medium flowering level'.
I was trying to grow in super soil but then the grow went way too long and it started to run out of juice. I ended up with a 10 week veg too since I was doing SCRoG but not terribly efficiently.

I cut them down, as suggested, I actually noticed the first signs of bananas (i think) on one of the plants so I guess I didn't have much choice in the timing.

My biggest concern is not having this issue on the next grow. If the plant gets rootbound or something does it do wierd stuff like this?

I wouldn't have cut them. Lots of factors can contribute to longer flowering times. Getting hung up on the trichomes leads to early harvests. Many go by the trichomes based on that chart floating around. That chart is garbage. The entire concept of harvesting with different levels of clear, cloudy, or amber is just flawed.

If you want a head high grow a damn sativa and harvest it when it's done. Don't grow an indica and harvest early for a head high.

If you want couchlock then grow an indica or indica dominant strain and harvest when done.

If you want high CBD then grow a high CBD strain and harvest when it's done.

You can tell when they're done just by visual examination. You don't need a damn microscope to know when to harvest. Why do cannabis growers overcomplicate everything?

I would harvest as well there are very few strains that need that long to complete flower.
Sorry but this is wrong. It's very common for plants to need that much time from the 12/12 flip to be properly ripened, it's just not common for people to give them that much time. Just because a seed producer says it only takes 8,9,10 weeks doesn't mean it will really be done in that time frame. Seeds producers aside it's also easy to slow the growth processes of the plant which can extend the flowering. The OP already stated that it took longer than he expected to veg the plant successfully. This means he likely dealt with environmental issues or any number of other problems. Those issues easily could have extended his transition period or flowering process.

Extended veg does not effect time of flower any problems in flower will stunt growth during flower your resin production peaks what 6-8 weeks of flower I believe I can research the exact weeks but at that same time your buds get dense. I'm sure you can let it go no problem but why? the peak production is over now. you need to decide is the cost of the electric worth it is the chance of something going wrong worth it? Please show me where most plants take 14weeks in flower

They don't look anywhere near ripe, it's almost as if half the people posting in this thread have never grown a long flowering strain before. You've already put 14 weeks into it, do you want to flush all that time down the toilet, or be patient and wait for these plants that you've put so much time, money, and care into, to actually mature to their genetic potential? Give them at least two more weeks, then reevaluate.

One thing I think has been missed in this thread. Or at least I haven't seen it.

Are those auto's? That makes a big difference than 14 weeks from flipping a photo to 12/12. They look like autos to me so 14+ weeks is pretty common.

They aren't ready for chopping. There are no issues. Plants finish when they are done, not when a breeder or you think they should be done.

They are your plants do what you want.

You are correct. Which is why trichomes are not as reliable as some make them out to be. It's also why I don't bother looking at them. You can tell when a plant is done with just a visual inspection.
I think the case is that the majority of folk are growing hybrids.

Another beautiful thing about our beloved plants is that you can alter the high depending on harvest.

I like to think of it as a harvest window rather than a harvest day, usually a couple of weeks+ when you can chop and the high will be different and you’ll only lose a few % yield

ROFL, you're kidding right? My last plants flowered for over 12 weeks and that's not counting the 2 weeks transition after flip. They packed on a ton of resin the last few weeks. They also got much more dense in that last month.

Lmao do your own do diligence, and grow some plants :). Others have already commented on how wrong you are. I've grown a thousand plus plants in the last 16 years, which isn't even that much, and have seen many strains some all indica, some full sativa and many hybrid. I've met growers in person and watched many many more growers online. I never said most strains take 14 weeks from 12/12, I said "its very common for a plant to need that much time". You need to work on your reading comprehension and learn some more about plants. If you think most plants only need 6-8 weeks to peak I'm really glad I don't have to smoke your shwag.
