okay so i've gathered some funds together,and i think im ready to grow.
i want to start my grow in a cabinet type setting using an aero set up and i was wondering what all i would need for this. thank you very much.

and make a clone chamber on top and a flowering room below. get some panda plastic to make it light proof. i would try maybe an air cooled 400watt light for the flowering, i would purchase it from htgsupply.com


for you aero setup u want it to be very short i.e. low profile so u can maximize the amount of room u have in there. I have this cabinet too but i only use it for my mother and for cloning my next batch, i have it in my closet which is also the flowering room,

i say maybe 2 plants in there under the 400watt should yield nicley, it also has a place on the cabinet to lock it with a padlock

if it was me i would just use DWC seems much less complicated and works pretty much just as well.

then get a nice fan to suck the hot air out of your air coolable reflector. hopfully this will be enough to make temps in there ok for your plants

i would also install a little smoke alarm in the cabinet to be safe. connect everything with a power strip inside th box so you only have one cord comming out of the back of your grow cab, this whole setup should cost as follows:

$70 for the cabinet

mayber around $200 for a good air coolable light

then maybe $100 for nutes buckets and nicknacks here and there.

$400 for create your marijuana factory, upon harvest sell one ounce to recoop your investment, (obviously this selling comment is only for people who live in a legal state who have the porper paperwork to sell)

Lights, nutes, fans, duct work, odor control, hydro system, wall covering, cabinet

If cloning, add clone machine/set-up, area for cloning, lights for clones

Here is a cut and paste from a grow guide i'm working on .... unfortunately i haven't gotten to the equipment list yet but here are some considerations for a grow room/area (part of a longer document)...
The Grow Room or Closet

Before we can begin growing, we have to make some decisions regarding where to grow and what equipment to use. That's what this section is all about. But before we start making a shopping list and knocking out walls, let's decide where we're going to grow.

The ideal grow room should have the following qualities:

Clean - you don't want to give a lot of dust, mold, mildew, insects, or other unpleasant things easy access to your plants.

Climate controlled - you want an area that you can have some control over the temperature and humidity.

Secure - you don't want your garden to be accidentally or easily discovered. Some advice I heard was there should be no less than two locks between the outside and your plants. We'll also need to make sure we can control any odor emanating from the plants.

Easy Access to Water Source - this one is often overlooked. You don’t want to be running a garden hose through your bedroom or carrying heavy buckets of water up and down many flights of stairs. Not having easy access to fresh water can take the joy out of gardening.

Easy Access to Fresh Air - somehow, someway, fresh air must be able to enter the growing area, which infers a way to exhaust hot, stale and often very smelly air will be necessary.

Easy Access to Enough Electrical Sockets - provided it is convenient, heavy-duty power cords can be used to bring electricity to the garden. Often, it is necessary to add circuits to accommodate the electrical requirements.

Light-Tight - Finally, you'll want to be able to make your grow space light-tight. That means no light should be able to enter or leave the grow area. You want to keep light from exiting to prevent it from attracting unwanted attention. And no light should enter as to not disturb the plants photoperiod.

Fire/Water Proof- don't want anything easily ignitable in there. Also, a way to catch leaking water can save you much more than just money; especially if you have downstairs neighbors.

I'm sure a few areas sprung to mind. Closets, basements, attics and spare rooms all have their pros and cons. You can also purchase a grow tent. Building or modifying a cabinet is also a very popular option.

It is best to accurately sketch out the area you plan to use and draw in where all the components go.

i was looking to grow about 6 big plants
and i was also thinking about getting a conversion light system

well 6 big plants will need a closet or a very huge grow cab on the order of somthing like this:

i think that cabinet would be good. prolly get you a pound every 2 months if u do every thing right with 6 plants and a 400watter with conversion MH bulb for veging. then you make a little clone shelve on top.

anyone know where i can find used cloets like that one or cheap cheap ones

how cheap? the cheapest way to go it to buy a portable closet like below, however you will have to line it with plastic so no light comes out or everyone will be able to see a light in there.




these type run around the $25 - $35 dollar range. but i would recommend getting the $64 plastic cabinet. i posted above

i think that maybe be wat i need but will it be big enough for 6 plants and everything else inside?
how would i set up my lights in that?

I just got this and have a mini 400w HPS $129, a squirrel fan $25 for the exit heat, with a small fan $8 inside to move air and 3" inlet vent low with co2 hope to have photos up soon. I use a 3'X3'X27" veg box.tube grow lights $55, heat pad for seeding $28 I was going to use a smaller box but found the colmen jumbo at Lowes $195. it is in my garage very nice MAN

why bury it?

get 1, cut in flow thru vents, for cool-tube lights. make a 2 Ft walk way down 1 side, so it leaves 6 Ft wide, 40 Ft long. break up the inside into 1 6X10 with 2 400 MH's for clone/mother/veg room.

1 area 6 Ft x 8 Ft with 3 600 Wt HPS's for a 4 week "pre" flower room, so you get them jump started b4 the big room.


then 1 area that is 6x16, 6 more 600 HPS's. rotate 15 at a time every month, you should pull out 15 monster indoor plants. averaging about 500 to 800 Gr a month. and it will sit at 60 plants at any time. 15 veg, 15 "pre" flower room, and 30 giants in flowering, on a 15 plant a month rotation.


then, all lights are cooltubed, with constant flowing air, from outside, back to outside, then, hook a AC unit to the main 40 Ft container for constant temp control, and a HUGE vent system, to clear out all air, 3 times a day, to keep it from getting stale.

with all this it takes to set up a container grow right, why make it even worse, by burying it? what if you need to work on a electrical line? or a AC unit needs work?


my sons cali card gives him up to 60 plants. me and my GF both qualify for cards, and are moving to cali in next 3 months. if we get same Dr, thats 60 each, for her, and me. this container is my main idea. i got about $11K set aside for it, and the 40 Ft container is only $2,000 off the docks in oakland.i figure, put up veg room, (got those lights/hoods) AC unit, i got 2 600 HPS ballasts. i can get it half up, then get it running, and the 1st or 2nd pull out of it, i can cover the rest, to get it fully running.


P.S. i have a few indoor grows under my belt, this container idea isnt a 1st time grower plan. give me 6 months, i will run a string on my setting it up.




burying it just makes it stand out more. in the country, every1 around my home town has 1 in back yard, for storage. they are cheaper, and better build then those yard sheds from home depo. my dads next door friend has a 28 Ft'er in his back yard, (lawn mower, car parts, drill press table saw, back yard shop)

if you bury it, it draws attention to entrance, hiding the displaced soil, for the hole, and power lines running in conduit into the ground is a red flag.


the more in the open you run 1 of these, the less it is looked at.


sorry for hi-jacking your thread, i just dont understand why every1 that thinks of the 40 Ft container idea wants to bury it, and draw all that attention.

this is 1 of the best step by step aero DIY thread i seen yet. after reading it, i want to make 1 for tomatos this summer, and run it in my garden.

i am all organic, soil only, it works best for me, but that DIY aero guide is tempting.

(the rose garden in my avie, is my front yard.)
