Wisconsin Outdoor Grow Questions

So hypothetically let's say you lived in Wisconsin a state that has some fairly extreme climates such as cold snowy winters and hot humid summers. Can anyone with some good outdoor grow advice help out with a few of these hypothetical questions, are there good times to grow outdoor in Wisconsin what are some basic setup guidelines for growing in this area, can you produce good quality buds in this scenario or is WI just not the place for an outdoor grow? Let's also just assume in this hypothetical scenario this person is aware of the laws and doesn't need any advice or outlines on that subject. Thanks everyone for taking the time to ponder and think about this scenario and any info given would be highly appreciated:leaf:

Start your plants inside(if you can) in an indoor seedling set up. Helps give them a head start, we can't really transplant outside until May(check your local last frost dates). Get some seeds that flower early(early girl, kaya gold, etc.) We actually have a fairly good grow season, the summer's are nice. You should have no problem finishing plants, worst case scenario you have to harvest them early.

What you just germinate and then just start in ground In may, or just start in may from seed, would that be ok?

I usually start my plants inside in April and then transplant in May(thats when the weather lets me...), but yes you probably could just start them outside in May and have no problems. Be careful though, little baby plants are easily squashed or eaten by animals.

What's kind of a basic setup for an outdoor grow In that area just for like 2-3 plants? Any specifics for sure needed? cost?

I usually put mine in the ground(and only a few in pots), the roots are protected more from frost when they are in the ground, but when they are in pots you can always move them inside too. You gotta figure out what youre gonna do about nutrients for the plants, and also you should get some protection from animals. Deer will bite that shit! I use cages until they outgrow them. You should read up a lot on protecting plants from frost, thats always my main concern going into the season up north. I usually get frost in September around my area so it makes me nervous lol.
