Wiring a DC fan to an AC power supply...

Hey everyone...I am currently working on a PC case for my next grow which I'm about to start here in a week or so. I originally wired up all the fans (three 120mm fans and two 90mm fans) to 5 separate 12V DC power supplies...which worked fine but I found out I could use fewer supplies if I only had a power supply with a higher Amp rating (then use parallel wiring). So I found one that is 12V and has a high enough amp rating however it does not specify whether it is AC or DC output...

So my question is this...since the power supply makes the fans spin does that mean it is DC? Or could it be still be AC and making them spin but causing some harm to the fans?

I need to know whether I can use this power supply since it seems to work but I don't know if it is DC. Please let me know if there are any dangers involved with what I have described. I'd rather not have to go back to Goodwill on a search for another power supply but if it means preventing a fire or something...then I would be willing to go back lol.

Thanks in advance!

Yea thanks man, but I already know how to do all the wiring...I just needed to know what would happen if it happened to get wired to an AC adapter rather than DC. Thanks though!

AC and DC are by no way compatible. AC is alternating current, DC is direct current. If your fans are working then your power supply will work. If it was AC then your fans would already be ruined.

Ok great! I did a test run for about 2 hours and all the fans worked properly the whole time so I'm assuming that must mean it's DC! Awesome...thanks for the input. +rep
