what good to use on your windows to keep light out?

I use the black side of panda film

I hung curtains on the exterior, and just used thick cardboard invisibly behind that..
Then I had the brainstorm that I could fit a little mini tv in the gap between on a timer, so it looked like somebody was watching tv at times rather than looking like a suspicious room that never seemed to light up..
