No way! It's a new invention discovered by a couple modern cannabis growers with youtube channels. Nobody was growing cannabis in rich healthy soil until now.

Had the same issue when I first started growing autos I would start them in 3 gallon pots of happy frog and like a idiot water to much of the pot instead of just a little area around the little seedling and have rooting problems to much water and the little roots won't get enough oxygen!

That's not it. I always fully saturate my pots when repotting. Roots grow very fast and even going from a 1L pot to 4gal I have roots poking out the drain holes within a few days max. That's in ProMix HP so with coco you want it always moist. A 2" seedling can have foot long roots.

you have to start them off in the pot you're going to finish them in, or you get runts you can't transplant them so if you water the whole pot the roots sit in water and don't get enough oxygen, I've been going photos and autos for 4 years and know what happens if you water the whole pot to soon.

I've grown lots of autos and treat them the same tho will transplant into final pots after starting them in something smaller for a few nodes first. I've only grown a few dozen autos compared to at least a few hundred photos the last 20 years. I've been breeding autos for outside up north here but now have hemp farms around me so no more outdoor grows for me. Just going to grow photos now.
That has not been my experience at all. There's oxygen down there waiting for the roots and if there's a healthy bio-herd in your mix there's even less chance of oxygen deprivation. Just don't water until the plant has used the old stuff out. None of the 'dry 2-knuckles deep so must water' crap.

Transplant shock. Sometimes unavoidable. They'll recover just don't start throwing solutions at it. All they need is normal TLC and time.

You shouldn’t really transplant autos, plant them in the final pot from the start.
