Will you be remembered?

Anyone think they will be remembered in 100 years or so?

I sometimes ponder this question about myself, but then I think, do I really care?

Anyone fear that they wont be remembered?

i know i won't be remembered. i don't want children. i don't care about being rememered either, i don't have a big ego.

I will pass down things I do, so they will still be done in the future. I do not know if I will persona;;y be remembered that long though...

Doubtful, no kids and no immediate family. But hey, I'll be dead and won't care

I'll be remembered. But talking about me being a memory is kind of a sad topic I think.

I have an idea of a small business that will do very well, I just need my first client. Once I'm established and I get a few clients I'll invest into a warehouse, get more clients and then diversify into fast food franchises. By the time I die, I want my business to have several different franchises in different locations in Canada and my initial business will have warehouses in many major cities. It will be 100% self sufficient for my kids and it will be equally owned by all of them.

I will, soon as the doctors tell me i have two weeks to live I am going to go out with a big bang. can not say what is in my head,but it is good lol

Think about this hierarchy of standing legacies (Top is the smallest, bottom is the biggest legacies):

Organization/Group/Club
Gang/Business
Political Party/"Freemason" type fraternities
Nationality/Families/Tribes
Religion
??? (There are more, not as noticeable though)

I plan on being bigger than business's and gangs. But not as far as a cultish/religion design So maybe into ??? Or just N/F/T

No kids here either. But, even if you do have kids...100 years? No one around in 100 years will have known you, that's for sure. And, unless you are famous or did something or invented something or whatever, few people are remembered in 100 imo.

The reason this hierarchy makes sense is:

If a parent or grandparent was in a Gang or Business, it can effect what Organizations/Groups/Clubs your generation of family is in.

A parent or grandparents Political Party/Fraternal type connections can dictate future generations gangs and/or business dealings

A parents or grand parents family legacy(military, great minds, actors, etc), tribe, or Nationality can decide your political party, business dealings, or clubs you are in.

A parent or grand parents religion... Etc

Agreed, most people won't be remembered. Most people don't even go outside any more, or stop watching TV long enough to talk to their own kids...

The reason I think my methods and ways of doing things might be remembered is...
I have an invention I just have to patent, have an original idea for glass blowing, am breeding my own strains, plan on making a cartoon or just art, am going to be traveling the world, may get involved in politics later in life, and MUCH much more That's just the beginning

Will I be remembered in 100 years or so? Hell no! The minister at my funeral will probably forget my name, and if Alzheimer's gets me I'll forget my name long before the minister will.

In a way I'm looking forward to Alzheimer's. I'll get to meet new people every day.

I hope not because thought is a product of fear...and if we still live in a fear driven society 100 years from now humanity (which I'll still be a part in) can never love and have happiness. In 100 years it is essential for humanity to no longer limit itself by restrictions thought has created such as division. WE ARE NOT SEPARATE! its a man made illusion that we created. "You" are a part of humanity. "We" are humanity. *so my prediction is in 100 years your question will no longer be valid.*

That's not true.

What you're talking about sounds like "Hive mind" or "Perfect Socialism". But that can't work, there will ALWAYS be someone that is going to be greedy, and WANT all the money for themselves. I've thought this through, unless you go Hitler on everyone, and genocide people that don't want to listen to you, something like that CAN'T work.
We can become "Earth" instead of "America" "Britain" etc. But it can't be like your saying. The closest we can get is a world where everyone gets to "Pick their tribe" and every tribe gets to "Pick their rules" So that every set of ideals, and laws, gets a group of people or "nationality" to go with it, and every idea can go down in history as strongly as "Jewish" ideas, or "Christian" ideas

THEN we will all come together to fulfill our roles in nature "together" as "Humanity".

Begs a question, remembered by whom? I look around and think there is no way that this is still here 100 years from now. Great nations have come and gone before, and for reasons very similar to the problems we face today.
