Will this stunt growth?

While I use my fan to help strenthen the stems, I've put a pencil and bread-tiers around the stem to keep it up.


Will this stop this leaf from growing?

As long as it's not too tight and the stem has plenty of room to grow you should be fine. I use a big match stick with very fine sowing thread lightly tied to it to fully support it but not counteract her growth.

It will grow past that in a day or two. I make a hook on the end of a piece of 14 gauge wire that's about 4" long, stick it in the dirt beside the plant and place the hook around the stem. You can make taller ones for larger plants. You can get the wire at a hardware store.
