Will this air con do for this room and also closed room question

The room is 10 x 10 fully insulated.
The lighting is 3000 watts of led.
The aircon is 1600 watts maximum cooling.

Here is what I want to do and will it work.

Use the aircon to keep the room at 26 celsius when not venting.
Every 2-4 hrs vent the room for 15 minutes or so.
The 4 hrs that the room is closed add Co2 to the room.

What size AC? I’m guessing a 1600 watt AC should be around 18,000btu(1.5 ton) which would be great.
Dumping your room every 4 hrs is fine. It’s what I do despite what others might tell you on here. I find it makes for a healthier room and better yields

Thanks mate I will set it up, the unit doesn't have btu listed anywhere just the cooling wattage, its a window unit Ive got to mount it into the middle room wall and build a vent box around the back of the aircon into the ceiling and get rid of the heat there, the main reason is about controlling humidity I cant get it over 30% while venting 24/7 and that's with good humidifiers Im just pulling too much dry air through, so running the air con will allow me to add humidity and gas into the closed room.

Ive read a few accounts of not dumping a closed room and people getting problems with the roots and other things in the room off-gassing, with intermittent dumping of the room fixed it, sounds safer to me to vent at times in small rooms.

Does this sound feasible?

While the lights are on its a closed room, aircon Co2 humidifiers, then when the lights go off the room is vented all night cycle to keep humidity in check, lights on it go back to closed. Can the gas be automated to cycle 12 on 12 off ? Seems like it should work great but as we know lots of little things can bite you in this game and I've never ran closed before.

Newbie here, I’m in a 5x5 sealed room. That’s in a basement like environment. The lights put off enough heat (spider farmer sf4000) to keep room hot, above 83. So my question is, instead of hooking up a portable ac unit or running exhaust fan constantly could I use another fan and carbon filter to pump in cooler air from the area outside of my grow room every so often to act as ac or would that not work? Thanks in advance

On top of keeping the temps in check you need to replenish the co2 and also keep the humidity in check.
If your room gets c02 from venting, you need to vent often. If venting the room often would make it too cold in there, you could run it sealed. But you need to add co2 and will most likely need a dehumidifier in either setup.

are you running bottled co2 with a regulator you'll need a controller with fuzzy logic or w/e. or are you burning natural gas or propane for co2? if your doing bottled co2 prolly dont need to dump the room, if your burning gas id say you could do it once per light cycle like a fan to start exhausting the room right after lights out. id set the a/c so your Canopy temp is 25 celsius / 77 f not the room temp

I’m not running co2 yet, I just got seeds germinated and in rock wool. I have a couple of co2 bags to hang in there. I was hoping that would be enough since I’ll be bringing cool air in from a different carbon filter and fan. I also have a humidifier and dehumidifier hooked to an inkbird humidity controller in grow room itself. Do you think the bags would be good enough?

unfortunatly you've been scammed those bags dont emit enough co2 to be effective the companies that sell them prey on people who dont know any better id suggest getting co2 tank with a regulator and controller

I appreciate the heads up. I guess I’ll be buying a tank tomorrow.

Without gas you should vent 24/7, or in the least very intermittent like every 5 minutes if you don't you will get problems in the how root system breathes, if you have constant cooler air outside the room you can set up temperature-controlled fans that will auto-adjust fan speed to stay at the temp you set the controller at, I use hyper fans and controller, there is also affinity and I think Inkbird brought one out also, Im very happy how mine has worked all through winter, the caveat is that if outside is cooler they work great, if outside is hotter they eventually in an insulated room can only match outside temps, as Im just going into summer this is the reason I chose to go sealed with aircons and gas, its the first taste of summer for me and Ive had to pull a room premature because of mold starting after a week of rain and now outside temps in the 30c range.

If you're constantly 20c or less outside you can control your room with fans, anything much above that you gotta go aircon gas humidifier and take full control over the environment.
