Hi there all.
I was given 6 of these LED lights and was wondering if they would be sufficient to use for a grow?
They are 70w
4000k
Thanks heaps.IMG20210402200306.jpgIMG20210402200328.jpgIMG20210402200338.jpgIMG20210402200513.jpg

they will work for growing, but will let you down when flowering. you will still get a crop out of them. so in short yes you can

if you keep the plant low/short, then you can position the lights all around the plant and get the maximum benafit from them.
id put a plant in the center of them, 2 above and one each on 4 sides of the plant.
prune the plant so it has side growth kept to a minimum, easy pinching out the main growing tips.
you will have to put the plants into flower soon after they start growing, or depending on your pruning, you can have a niniture plant with good bud growth.
look in the led section and bonsai cannabis plants, you will find a heap on info on just how to do this.
start with a feminised seed, then your garanteed a female and will end up with a small perfectly formed plant

sorry, i should have read that b 4. good luck. ill try and find a post in particular with the shape your aiming for so you can see for yourself

Hey. Floodlights usually work like COBs, i.e. they will emit very intense light but over a small area. If you turn them on in a dark room and aim them on a wall, you'll see the light footprint from the floodlight being very, very bright in the center spot but a foot away the intensity is a fraction of the center spot.

As go go kid said, I'm sure you'll be able to grow weed with them but to get the intensity right you should probably buy a lux meter. Even a cheap one for $10-20 will be helpful. Measure the light intensity (lux) emitted from the lamps and make sure the intensity isn't too high at canopy level.
Seedlings will want around 7000 lux, early to late veg around 14.000-30.000, early to late flowering around 30.000-50.000(+) lux.

They'll work better than most will tell you but they're not ideal for flowering. Then again, people have been flowering under MH for a long time so...

That said, one successful grow with those lights could easily save you enough cash (from not buying bud) to easily afford much better lighting. :bigjoint:

They will work just fine. Only thing, for flower you want to have from 2000K to 3000K ( for fattier buds ). But you can most defenitely grow weed with only 4000K.
