Will my very short clone survive? (pics)

Average days for roots is 7-10 days...very rare to be less then 7 and most are 10-14.
Wait until you can see them coming out sides/bottom of jiffy pellet would be best.
It may be too humid in your terrarium for it...do you have a small container you can put it in instead? I use dollar store containers with clear tops.

I need help! It seems the clone is not liking life outside its previous humidity-rich cool environment. I transferred it to a big pot in direct sunlight in the balcony. I live in the beach and last week it seemed like winter is over or something because it is hot and I will have to use the AC in my flat. Anyways, it is definitely not enjoying it. See the pic. I now placed the pot under the shade. Would that be enough and I should just wait for it to adapt or should I bring it back to the terrarium? It has been less than half a day since I put it outside. How should I proceed?

I've never tried to transfer a cannabis plant to the outdoors before, but many plants require, or at least benefit from, a period of "hardening" where it is transitioned gradually for a few hours a day to progressively less controlled conditions until it can be outside 24/7.

I'll let others with more experience speak to a proper process, but I think your instincts served you well in moving it to shade. I would consider misting it as well if, as you say, it's used to less arid conditions. It's also reasonable to take it back indoors until it seems sturdier.
 
Thank you guys. Tinkerbell has been transferred back to the terrarium. Once it recovers I will wein it off the terrarium slowly not expossing it to direct sunlight just yet. I thought it would resist since the mother plant is happily growing in the balcony with full direct sunlight, but I guess I was wrong, it will require slow hardening.
 
Yes it must be "hardened" from the terrarium...with a lot of humidity it may take a bit to make her strong :P
Few mins each time you see her perk up in terrarium bring her back out until she starts to go limp...repeat until she can be out 30 mins to an hour, that time depends on you and seeing how 'bad' she gets. Then just keep repeating.
Some plants don't mind inside light to outside light switch as much as others...slowly each day move her closer...2-3 days is usually good.
Great job so far...you can do it :P
 
Tinkerbell is starting to go limp today at the terrarum, first time it does that. It seemed it was getting better and now this. Underwatering overwatering or what?82668085_248572462799835_8215308818385469440_n.jpg

Besides that, some of the smaller undeveloped branches are rotting. Anyone know the mortality rate of clones? Anyways, I took another clone yesterday from the lower branches of the mother plant.

Sadly, I have to communicate that I have sent Tinkerbell to the trash can as it began to rot. I pulled it out and realized it hadn't rooted at all, meaning the cheap rooting powder I bought didn't work. The new clone is starting to not look good, also no root, so I've put it floating in water and just ordered clonex, which isn't cheap here in Mexico. So if it survives thats OK, but from now on I will take new clones and use clonex as I've heard about lots of success stories with it.
 
I truly think you should invest or find a better place to put the clones into.
The terrarium is too damp and not making the clone 'search' for water.
Could use a large water bottle, pop bottles...anything really that you can seal off most of the outside air for a few days...then open it slightly longer each day and the cutting should have roots after about 10-14 days.
Cut the bottle/container in half so the top part can fit over the bottom creating a 'seal'.

For a clone the light doesn't have to be bright like in flowering.
A couple CFL's or shop light fluorescents should work fine.
And keep plant under it for 16 hours a day to stop it from flowering.

One clone just rot. So maybe the terrarium is too damp like you said. What do you think of my new setup? It is just a transparent dome. This will keep them humid but not damp. I'm planning to let new air every day. Is it too simple of a setup, will it still work?

Yup that should work perfectly...spray the lid of container and not the plants to keep humidity up so the plant will search for water which will help roots grow.
Simple is best way to go...well beside cheap...lol
 
Hello guys, I'm reviving this thread because it would have been great if any of the clones would have survived and I'm just trying to analyze what went wrong. So this is what I have, bear with me:

-A terrarium filled 1/4 with water which keeps really good humidity, I think as a cloning container it should work great.
-Coco coir jiffy pellets
- Clonex

So all of the maybe 6 clones I had, they never rooted and rotted at the base. I think they just got too much wet at the base, and don't know exactly why they never rot, but I'm having the impression that the jiffy pellets are at big fault since they retain too much water.

What are your ideas, how can I improve this? Why isn't it working for me, what else you I change?
