your in the very beginning, size starts building the most at week 6, then continues to grow till week 9. I personally take my plants 80 days now and see a huge benefit taking them 80 vs 60 days like I used to.

Really? I have been growing for 30+ years and I still wanna look see.

I generally use my phone camera with flash off. Get as close as it will focus clearly and get a few pictures. Then zoom in on those images to see the trichomes. Works great. Anytime I am getting near chop time I wanna see whats going on. Yeah, with experience you can tell from the naked eye but it does really help fine tune the exact day of chop when you look closely. I find that in my grows harvest times of the same cut can vary by 3 or 4 days.

I don't see how 3-4 days make much of a difference.

I don't see a reason to with the way I do things. it doesn't need to be fine tuned to a arbitrary "perfect day" 80 days an they are done next batch in (with my main strain) I pretty much only grow 1 strain so im not juggling 10+ strains, but even when I was doing 10 strains id just cut em all together. for me I want them to go until they stop bulking up an get them out, that's when mine are done.
