It takes a long time to break down.My plant is starting to flower, Will bone meal added to the soil help the buds at this time. Or should it be added at the beginning of the grow?
I have this kind.
Thanks![]()
I'm using this stuff for my soil. I'm not sure what's in it. But it's very low on the numbers.Does ur soil not contain that? Don’t think of a soil like hydro grow.
what is ur base medium?
Thanks, I think I'll add it to my OG Kush which is 3 weeks old from seed then.Optimum would of been to add it before the grow and let it cook for a while. It will provide some nutrients immediately, but not a lot.
Just remember bone meal has a lot of phosphorus and Calcium, a little N, and no Potassium, so it’s not a complete fertilizer. You’ll need to supply potassium and N. It is also slow release. Thanks, I think I'll add it to my OG Kush which is 3 weeks old from seed then.![]()
Bone meal isn't hot. Maybe you're thinking of blood meal. You're gonna end up doing a lot of tail chasing adding nutes like that to your soil. Especially a 3 week old seedling. Bone meal can be hot.
Yeah, i probably am. But it can still cause lockouts/ burning. Applying these dry nutes for a new grower is going to be tough. Not sure how you'd begin your feeding ratios in such small quantities.Bone meal isn't hot. Maybe you're thinking of blood meal.
Too much of any nutrient can lock out others. I agree adding individual amendments isn't a good idea for a new grower. He'd be better off using a premade mix like Dr. Earths or Gaia. A little bone meal wouldn't hurt but it would be halfway through flower before it even started to do anything. Fish bone meal is better and breaks down a little faster but it still takes awhile.Yeah, i probably am. But it can still cause lockouts/ burning. Way more forgiveness using that fertilizer outside on large pots or beds.
